Yesterday, at the Valdai Club, Putin lied as usual. He claimed that Russia took control of 1,301 sq km in the "SМO" zone during September. In reality, Russian forces expanded the occupied zone by 66 km² in September. Year-over-year pacing continues to slow down.

There are many reasons for this. It is not only people's "fatigue" from the war, but also the fact that social networks, particularly X, have started artificially suppressing the reach (pessimizing) of posts on military and political topics, especially regarding Russia's war against Ukraine.

Transportation collapse in #Kyiv this morning. After Russian strikes, bridges across the Dnipro river have been closed down, so people can't reach the right bank. A lot of residential areas are on the left bank of Kyiv, and business activity is traditionally on the right.

A Russian soldier told how he was captured by Ukrainian Defenders for a second time - this time by the 61st Separate Mechanized Steppe Brigade. Mikhail Fomin from Ulan-Ude, Buryatia, call sign "Kipish," was involved in car theft, burglaries, and drug dealing before joining the Russian army.

A Ukrainian pilot was killed in combat today after his MiG-29 fighter jet was shot down by a Russian missile. He had been carrying out missile and bomb strikes against Russian forces on one of the front-line sectors. The pilot ejected but, tragically, did not survive.
