for no reason in particular, here is a guide and watch order for neon genesis evangelion

EVANGELION WATCH ORDER
If you want the FULL, UNABRIDGED experience, start with:
Neon Genesis Evangelion: All 26 episodes of the anime
The End of Evangelion (1997): Technically an alternate ending, but it completes the original series. Think of it like episode 27

ALTERNATIVELY If you want a shorter, more digestible start, watch:
Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death & Rebirth (1997) OR Evangelion: Death (True)² (1998): These movies condense 24 episodes of the anime into one film. They’re comparable but Death (True)² is the best recap IMO.
The End of Evangelion (1997)

After either of these combinations, watch the Rebuilds of Evangelion. This consists of four films, and are a distinctly separate timeline from the original series. Watch in numerical order:
Evangelion 1.11: You Are (Not) Alone (2007)
Evangelion: 2.22 You Can (Not) Advance (2009)
Evangelion: 3.33 You Can (Not) Redo (2012)
Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon A Time (2021)
(when you see the titles written like 1.0 instead of 1.11, that is just the theatrical release. whichever you find is ok)
