Looking already at WaveBoy firmware 0.72. This will have the Retrograde Orbit fix though I want to also reintroduce starting up in the last module that was being used. This was removed for stability for refactoring but I'd like to bring it back.

Workaround for now is as it has been - simply don't clip the CV input. But the fix now allows for driving the input harder (into clipping if you want) while also letting you feedback into soup, which is pretty awesome and fun!

Well my band-mate found a bug in 0.71 :P Or more specifically helped me arrive at a proper fix. Clipping the input for Retrograde Orbit results in ugly noise at high feedback. This was a hard spot overflow bug in the mixing. Fixed but not in time for 0.71 obviously.

I did some surgery on it this morning, changing the feedback from 3x to 1x (unity). Hindsight, 3x was insane (why did I do that? :P). 1x is much better and now I'm able to get some lovely delay even off my quirky Marantz PMD221! Bias bleed isn't solved, but it is tamed. #MixTape #Eurorack #TapeEcho

...would be happy to help folks convert their patchsets for anyone that is rolling their own sample packs for the WaveBoy. It's a tedious process right now which is why I don't think many folks are making Sampler patches (apart from me).

Update on the next WaveBoy Firmware release, I'm changing how the Sampler patches work. This should make building patches much easier but replaces the existing method and I decided not to worry about a migration path directly in the firmware, but... #WaveBoy #Sampler

I woke up grumpy, but I think even in a good mood I wouldn't be jazzed about this. But Nintendo's Switch 2 antics in general have me very meh about it anyway. Link's Awakening on Switch was a decent remake. This one...I dunno. But then again Link to the Past is the best Zelda ever. Change my mind.

Oh haha fair point! Not everyone has a reflow oven :) I shoulda thought about that since I'm building up the final BOM right now. PCB layout is not my best but I am happy I managed to get it into 4HP while still making the SMD parts hand solderable (though as noted I'll be using an oven).

yeah deffo a thing. We do ship worldwide already but despite our efforts, the world orders are appropriately annoyed so no worries. I still have to make and test prototypes so perhaps once it's ready to go things will change. For this guy, I may make the schems available as well though.

This is mono as Eurorack tends to be mono (or dual mono) and the machines I use for delay are also mono (as is my send/return setup) so kinda worked out for me selfishly :) If I had a stereo Martanz I would probably chain the channels for longer delay though the UHER 4400 RM is a delay monster.

Yep mostly. Level adjustments plus working similarly to using a mixer with a send/channel setup. It has a non-resonant ~16KHz filter to help with bias leaking (which my Marantz has). Input knob is just to the tape and the feedback has a 3x boost (tamed by the feedback knob).

I have quite a list for our next Eurorack module/thing: 1. Guitar delay pedal / Eurorack module (WB delay mode) 2. Eurorack Tape Echo Interface 3. DIYRE Colour carrier 4. WaveBoy Advanced / Micro At present, working on #1 as I got a lot of feedback at CGF about a delay pedal.

Internally, it's still firmware 0.67 but I will likely bump it to at least 0.70 given how many changes I've made. I'm so excited for folks to try it out! Having to re-calibrate is a speed bump but I think is worth it. Jenny (the new pure waveforms/PWM/folder mode) is so cool!

Too many features to list but to hit on the tuning thing - the ADC configuration has been improved but this required re-arranging things but also results in better calibration and performance. Since I had to break stuff anyway, I also completely redid file handling which is way more useful.
