Yeah that’s kind of where I’m leaning towards too. Like at first he was excited to learn how to target practice and then once it hit him what the targets were terror kicked in. But on the other hand I think well wouldn’t hunting innocent animals feel worse? Monsters a kid feels like a hero?

Am I desensitized as an American or as a southerner? The way some describe Dean hunting with a gun at 6 as traumatic gets me. Im not a fan of it but grew up with boys hunting young and all of them were excited to learn to handle the weapon. I picture him stoked to learn & traumatized later.
