my secret santa gift for @maysundays.bsky.social !!! merry xmas :D it was a pleasure to draw the kolibris!

Three Kolibris (From left to right: Zinthe, Narz, and Lilie) sit around a living chair with books.

Ariane and Elster build a snowman.

ELSTER: I thought you hated your Blockwart. Why the sudden change of heart?
ARIANE: Those three we saw on the way here... Maybe they're not so bad? The snowball fight looked fun!
ELSTER (Referring to their frowning snowman): She doesn't look like she's having fun...
ARIANE: Well...

bulan 🌺 @biruesque.bsky.social · 22/12/2025

Ariane and Elster lying in bed. Elster is sleeping, clinging onto Ariane while Ariane looks at her with a serene smile.

ELSTER
Transmission from Heimat?

ARIANE
Ugh. Yeah. Received this morning.

ELSTER
You don't sound pleased, Officer.

ARIANE
They're insulting the lab they had you arrange! This research could've been done on Leng! Why insist us scouts do it, and then complain it's not something a researcher would've done?!

ELSTER
... May I see it?

ARIANE
Sure, knock yourself out.

bulan 🌺 @biruesque.bsky.social · 12/12/2025

Ariane and Elster (SIGNALIS) dancing happily together. The background is a closeup of them, an imminent kiss. The picture is framed by bright blue forget-me-not flowers.

one of ariane's attempts at befriending the elster unit #signalis

Fan comic of Ariane and Elster from Signalis.

Ariane approaches Elster with a mug of coffee. She is not innocuous. "Heh, Elster. You wouldn't kiss me for $1000, would you?"

Elster takes a bite out of her sandwich. "Where would I get the $1000 for that?"

To which Ariane coughs loudly and shrinks out of embarrassment.

Elster calls her, "Officer Yeong?!" concerned.

bulan 🌺 @biruesque.bsky.social · 20/09/2025

turns your magpie into a bug #signalis

Elster looking nervous, scratching her face + several chibi-fied versions of herself.

bulan 🌺 @biruesque.bsky.social · 09/09/2025

this was originally posted in april, but here's some commentary that i've never posted ^_^

The placement of lilies in each corner of the image is a reference to the rose frames in Revolutionary Girl Utena. While usage of the frames in the show itself could have a dozen different meanings, I chose to pair the frame in this painting with an image resembling flash photography.

Photographs are fallible, imperfect attempts at preserving memory. Sometimes you remember more than what an image tells you. Other times, photos build mythologies in your memory, shifting with age and transforming the more they are viewed and remembered.

In my native language, the phrase "sayang sekali" speaks to both love and regret. "I love you dearly" and "what a waste" in the same breath.

Between the four figures depicted here, only Ariane has a visibly open eye. I'll leave the rest up to interpretation.

#SIGNALIS in memory, in dreams, in hopes that...

Fanart of Signalis featuring Ariane and Elster.

Ariane and Elster have their hands intertwined in a dance, both smiling with their eyes closed.

The picture is framed by white lilies in the corners, and a different version of Ariane and Elster on the left and right sides.

On the left side is a sickly-looking Ariane in her white dress with an open eye visible. On the right side is a gravely injured Elster with a missing arm.

The edges of the picture is stained red.

bulan 🌺 @biruesque.bsky.social · 08/09/2025

sketches that im not sure will go anywhere, so i thought i'd post them #signalis

Ariane with her hair down. Lyrics to Mitski's "Bug Like An Angel" written around her: "Hey, what's the matter? / Lookin' like your sticker / Is stuck on a floor somewhere"

Elster's dismembered arm sits neglected at Ariane's feet. "Did you go and make promises you can't keep? / Well, when you break them, they break you right back"

Elster is paying no mind towards her open chest cavity, a mournful gaze cast somewhere else. "Amateur mistake."

She reaches over at another of her own kin in white armor. "You can take it from me."

pygmalion and galatea #revolutionarygirlutena

Digital painting of Utena and Anthy from Revolutionary Girl Utena inspired by the myth of Pygmalion and Galatea. Utena, drawn as an armored sculpture, is coming to life as Anthy kisses her. The scene is set in a dimly lit sculptor's atelier.

bulan 🌺 @biruesque.bsky.social · 07/07/2025

bulan 🌺 @biruesque.bsky.social · 05/07/2025

i have so many of these and the sketches are all varying degrees of crude/inaccurate

Elster in her white armor leaning in to kiss Ariane in her white dress. Around them, ghosts of their incarnations dance together.

The top of the picture is a sketch, while the picture at the bottom is the finished drawing.

Ariane and Elster peacefully sitting beside one another. Ariane is leaning into Elster, smiling, while Elster is playing the piano.

The left side of the picture is a sketch, while the right side is the finished drawing.

Ariane with flowing white hair, in her white dress, hunched over Elster. Elster is reaching up at her, her anguished expression cradled in Ariane's hand.

The left side of the picture is a sketch, while the right side is the finished drawing.

bulan 🌺 @biruesque.bsky.social · 05/07/2025

"make it exist first, you can make it good later" well yes

A crude sketch; Ariane and Elster happily dancing. Lilies frame the picture. Injured/sick versions of themselves are on either side of the frame.

A finished version of the previous sketch.
