I rustled up a prototype on Sunday for some slim #19thcentury journals. It seemed to work well! The laid paper came from offcuts from a pamphlet, the bookcloth is a leftover piece, & the marbled paper is by Jemma Lewis Marbling from Quince & Quill On to making the 11 others! #bookbinding #journal

Giving burnishing a go. This is a process in applying beeswax to, in this case, marbled papers to give it a smooth finish, makes the colours pop, & makes it a bit waterproof! This #historical reproduction #marbledpaper made by Victoria Hall will be used on some new C18th journals. #bookbinding

Made my 1st perfect binding #notepad for our honeymoon to the Netherlands! It worked well. Keep your eyes peeled for A6 lined paper notepads with optional magnetic strip in the future. Also a great way of using leftover bookcloth and card scraps from other bindings. #bookbinding #artisan

I rustled up a perfect bound notepad (the sort you can rip a page from for lists etc). I plan to take it away with me soon, but it's also a practice for a range of new stock! This is the reverse. It uses up leftover decorative card, remnants of bookcloth, & greyboard from envelopes. #bookbinding
