Dave Carter @birderdave1.bsky.social · 26/08/2026I'm surprised that's new for you Steve. I'm not far away from you, in Berkshire and I have had nearly a 100 records so far this year. I suppose the line gets drawn somewhere. 100
Dave Carter @birderdave1.bsky.social · 24/08/2026Have had one in the garden for 70 consecutive days now. It's here as I text. 000
Dave Carter @birderdave1.bsky.social · 12/08/2026Doesn't show the white streak on the wing apex which Spiny should show, but some of these are difficult. Might be best to send it for the chop. 120
Dave Carter @birderdave1.bsky.social · 11/08/2026The Queen of Spain Fritillary were showing well today in Hampshire. 071

Dave Carter @birderdave1.bsky.social · 28/07/2026Think they are both Oak Julie. Spiny will show a white dash on apex, your moths don't show that. 131

Dave Carter @birderdave1.bsky.social · 15/06/2026I would still be studying books and pulling my hair out. Would never have thought that was a Mottled Beauty, but a Beauty it certainly is Mark. 000
Dave Carter @birderdave1.bsky.social · 06/06/2026And me Les. My mate who lives a mile away has had EBS and a Stripey. A bit galling,to be honest. 130

Dave Carter @birderdave1.bsky.social · 13/05/2026Hi Thomas. I had this accepted as Pammene albuginana on photo alone. A day later I had it redertimed as Pammene, and told it needed Gen Det. Luckily I still had it in freezer. Have sent it off to be examined. Will post the outcome. 010
Dave Carter @birderdave1.bsky.social · 09/05/2026This Banded Demoiselle landed next to me while sitting in garden having a cuppa. Be rude not to take a picture of this beauty. 1141
