Tone Pro play number two. Reds are so subtle you can barely see I did anything… 3 basecoats this time to get a perfect finish, a shade and a highlight. Don’t have 1 or 5 for the deep shade or top highlight. Thanks to GW for sending me a sample paint set. #WarhammerCommunity #WarhammerTonePro

Overall the new Tone Pro paints worked well, although they did dry quicker than expected on my ceramic palette. My hope for them to be a one stop shop for basecoat, shade and highlight looks to have been answered, just a skill issue to iron out those blends, but it’ll come with practice. 5/6

but with a bit more of a thinning down and feathering they blended in a lot better once they dried, but not perfect. Hopefully the blending medium (not in the sample set) and some more patience will help with this. 4/6

Then I used Blue Gorkshroom (BG) 2 as an initial shade, then BG1 in the recesses, this worked really well. As you’ve probably guessed, the first highlight was BG4, then a final highlight of BG5. I found 4 and 5 to be much bigger jumps in brightness than anticipated, 3/6

So to try this out I painted two Stormcast cloaks, one primed white and the other black. The white primed mini did need two coats of Blue Gorkshroom 3 to get a clean finish, the black probably didn’t, but once dry it didn’t look perfect so I gave it another coat anyway. 2/6

Had a play with the new Warhammer Tone Pro paints. The one thing I was excited about with these paints, was the pentad of colours and in theory the ability to base, shade and highlight, hopefully without having to mix any colours. 1/6

We were playing a campaign and Orks were doing well and Drukhari weren’t. The dataslate came out and the buffs/nerfs were the opposite, so the player winning the campaign got even stronger and the losers got worse 🤷🏻‍♂️ I Know we could have house ruled and ignored the changes but that’s too much admin!

I really should return to my Epic Tyranids at some point, and also decide which hive fleet to do instead of painting two. A lot of the gaps in the foam are double layered with Gaunts, and that’s a lot of Bio-tanks! #warhammercommunity

Enjoyed it. Not having to argue over light and heavy cover was a bonus, but with everyone hitting on their base BS, there’ll be a lot of suppression and a race for Nerves of Steel! I annoyed my opponents with the ignore first Out of Ammo result for the Squats rapid fire weapons so that was a good 😂

I made a team of them… 17 years go (hence the awful photo) still got all the spares

Thanks. I made the team 20+ years ago, but have recently updated the skin tones to be more diverse. The Yhetee was from my AoS Ogor army and the Halfling I made from my bits box this week

The Yhetee is an AoS Troll with a Nurgle fly head for its head, then green stuffed fur. The Halfling is a Gnoblar with an Empire Flagellant head.. Think that’s everything 😂

Ok… The players are Space Marine legs, Necron Destroyer bodies, Ork arms, Catachan hands, Blood Bowl human catcher and thrower hands, the helmets are Mk6 Marine helmets with the beaks cut off and the faces are the fronts of Catachan heads sliced off their heads and stuck to the front of the helmet..

Back from the Newport Open where I picked up a silver for Tahlia. Had a mooch about and chatted and watched some games. Not much to do if you weren’t playing, but that’s exactly as it was advertised and it didn’t cost anything, so not too bad a few hours out of the house. #WarhammerCommunity
