Behold the "Thorn Studio 503 Ambiophonic". Dad designed it in the 70s and they sold 9000 units. I'm hoping I can figure out how to wire it up and play my records on it! Sad to think of all the industries we used to have in Aotearoa that fell by the wayside. #kikorangi

My sadness about Mum was lifted temporarily this morning by a visit to the Darfield dairy. I asked for a single scoop ice-cream and wasn't really paying attention until the proprietor handed me this monstrosity. I said "How am I going to eat that? It's as big as my head!" And he replied "lick fast."
