I don't make the rules, I just make a chart first thing in the morning to vaguely point at them. #scribdoon

A Venn diagram of star wars characters, with the two main circles being "piece of shit" and "goofy lil' guy." The overlap is labelled, "biblically accurate star wars characters," and is mostly made up of orig trig characters and the internet's new favorite, Biddy Blas. The corner say bonus points for speaking gibberish

XCOM 2: 4.5 million Mario + Rabbids: 3 million These are a bit more fair since they're similar games, and were also established names when they dropped. So, I'd say it's on its way to being about average for the genre

I think about this whenever it comes up, but they spent like 50 years fear mongering the growing population was going to lead to everyone starving. It's all over the media from that time period. Now that it's ticking back down, they're fear mongering over the exact opposite. There's no winning.

That's sick! How have you been liking the game? I've been wanting to try the ttrpgs for a while

This is obviously just scam/bot junk, but I do kinda like the idea of a company that threatens to cancel with all your service providers every few months to get the cheaper rate they offer you

I think their best move would be to play around in-universe with the corner Ynnead are stuck in. They can't progress in their mission for now (because GW won't do a massive shakeup for the Eldar). So, tell the story of Yvraine turning them into a more permanent faction that'll *eventually* progress.

I'd be more tempted if they were in their own box. Dropping double the cash for some orks and terrain is too much for just me

One that might surprise you: calm-looking rivers. Depending on the shape, it can hide how fast the current is moving underwater. The rural area I'm from has a case every year or two of someone from out of town getting sucked under. Stick to popular swimming areas!!

I can't stress enough how shockingly good that game is. A friend and I ran into a machine in the wild a bit ago, and I'm convinced they got the die hard license after they were basically done with it. It has almost nothing to do with die hard, but it rips as a beat em up

There's part of me that intellectually wants to disagree with it, but I do like the Joseph Campbell thing of the hero's journey and archetypes being built into us. That there's part of our brains that need the wise old mentor and stories where a hero must grow before going back home.

It's been forever since I read this, so I might be misremembering. The comics have a blurb that the New Republic didn't believe the First Order existed, and refused to authorize an army to fight them. So Leia made the "Resistance" herself to actually take care of them. All to say - def incompetent

Went looking through old photos, and I found one that turned out really well. I'll call it "peace" or something and pretend I worked hard on this framing

Two white doves sitting on an old dirty pipe. They're framed perfectly between a gap in a fence, the pipe they're on, and one above them.

I have maybe a dumb question. I thought part of the deal with antimatter was that it detonates on contact with matter. How does an antimatter factory work then? How does it not just explode against the walls of whatever container it's made/stored in?

Besides the ones that are just factually wrong, my least favorite is when portray their fanfic as a "theory." Dudes will go through an entire made-up scenario saying "maybe" and "plausibly" every other word instead of writing it as a narrative on AO3 like a man

Huh, I never actually thought about which was which between Michigan and Huron. Yours makes more sense waterflow-wise, but I assumed Michigan was the one in the middle since she's posed as the star of the composition and the fountain's like a mile from the actual lake.

010

BillybobBojack @billybobbojack.bsky.social · 28/08/2026

I used to visit it all the time because it was by my work. A couple other neat little details: Because of where it is, if you're facing it, you're also facing the actual lakes. Michigan and Huron are the closest together while the real lakes are connected to the point you could call them one lake

The Chicago Art Institute has a fountain of the Great Lakes, all depicted as ladies with the water flowing through them in the same order as the lakes. Ontario's on the bottom and, funny enough, I always took her gesture as warning you away from the dangerous water

I think the whole thing just comes from a complete misunderstanding of what concept art is. To them concept art isn't setting the visual tone for the whole project, or an opportunity to create a unique feel or design. They think it's just a Pinterest mood board for other people to look at.

The whole thing about it being a nuke platform you can put anywhere makes some sense, especially with Peace Walker's automatic nuclear deterrence. But then there's the legs and the Metal Gears like the one in 5 that are 90% mech, 10% nukes like you're gonna send a nuke launcher to go punch a guy.

The anarchist answer would be governments' centralized power is necessary for those to exist. Stalin is just a guy without the Party's control, and oligarchs need the state's protection and economic management. The same people who do the roads now can do so willingly, without threat of starving

Was this planned, or did a bunch of the guests all happen to gravitate toward the comic artist characters? Probably option one, but the second one would be funny. Just a collective, "Oh, I love them."
