Thank you for the overwhelming amount of birthday wishes on Sunday. They’re all truly appreciated. Since I opted to wait out a 4-hour rain delay at yesterday’s White Sox game, I had to celebrate my traditional birthday lunch at White Castle today. 🤣🤣🤣

Early in 2026, the Prairie Creek Public Library District asked me to give a presentation about the Cubs and Sox. I agreed and had no idea that both teams would have solid seasons. Tonight, the Cubs hold the top NL wild card spot, and the White Sox lead the AL Central by 5 1/2 games. Who knew? ⚾️

Finally played my first new golf course in years: Billy Caldwell Golf Course. Just a 9-hole course, and only the second course I’ve played in Chicago’s city limits. Played well, too. Two pars, one birdie. But don’t ask about hole #8. 🏌️‍♂️

Progress can be slow. In this instance, sloth pace. My family moved to Dwight, Illinois in 1986. Sidewalks are finally going in that neighborhood on Monday. Of course proper street signs didn’t get placed until 1902.
