☄️ **Fireball over North Wales!** At 02:30 BST this morning, a sporadic meteor reached magnitude −6.0, travelling at ~23.5 km/s. Its calculated atmospheric track was an incredible 93 km, from ~112 km altitude over the Irish Sea to ~45 km over North Wales. 🔭 🧪 #Fireball #Meteor #Astronomy

☄️ Fireball over Lincolnshire this morning! At 04:14 BST, a September ε-Perseid meteor flashed through the atmosphere at ~65 km/s, reaching magnitude −5.2. Its ~8 km-long luminous track was recorded by two UK Meteor Network stations. 🔭 #Meteor #Fireball #Astronomy

🌌 Stars are visible tonight, but those wispy high clouds are enough to spoil astrophotography. They scatter starlight, reduce contrast and create a hazy background, even when the sky looks clear! Sometimes “starry” doesn't mean “imaging conditions”! 🔭 #Astronomy #Astrophotography #Stargazing

🌠 Another sporadic meteor captured by Billingborough Observatory at 23:54:55 UTC on 22 August. Saturn, the Pleiades, and the Andromeda Galaxy are all visible in the same frame. The meteor was travelling at 46.8 km/s, with a calculated orbit of about 44 years 🔭 #Astronomy #Meteor #Andromeda

🌠 A bright sporadic meteor captured by our UK0032 camera at 00:32:34 UTC on 22 August. The event was detected by multiple cameras, giving a calculated atmospheric track of 66.8 km. Its absolute magnitude was −5.0 — a very bright meteor! 🌠🔭 #Meteor #Astronomy
