The United States is experiencing a crisis of reciprocity: citizens increasingly believe that they are asked to bear the costs of economic, technological, military and political systems whose benefits accrue disproportionately to people and institutions with greater power.

A key point in Medicare for All is that it reduces small business health insurance costs by $170,000 per year. That’s more likely to result in higher paychecks for workers and much lower unpredictability in business spending. It’s good for business, too.

Classic Trumpism: lie like hell, deflect, deny, then backtrack without ever admitting error.

What’s equally disturbing is Trump will retreat from false claims but only when the correction can be incorporated without conceding the prior claim was false. While not a diagnosis, the characteristic is associated with narcissistic personality disorder.

The testable hypothesis is the Trump administration is less likely than previous administrations to correct or narrow a claim after it is contradicted by evidence. This administration’s decision-makers operate from distorted information, making claims harder to audit resulting in expensive errors.

That's an incomplete statement by him. You can have an account on Healthcare.gov and applied for ACA and been rejected. You can apply for coverage and find you can't afford it. These aren't inconsistent. More than 3 million people have lost their coverage since January 2025.

Because Republicans think even the government should have a profit motive, so Republican Death Panels exist to ensure seniors die when they become unprofitable.

I have self-identified as Jewish since 1978. It's a long story but that doesn't matter. What does matter is that Netanyahu is a monster. That isn't anti-semitic. It's just a statement of fact. Until Israel removes him and his genocidal party - there should only be empty rooms for them.

As an older person, I saw the same thing with Watergate. Nixon’s “Silent Generation” stayed with him until about 4 months after he resigned, then support collapsed.

The economic effects of OBBB are stark: a modest 0.9% increase in GDP has increased the federal debt by $4.2 Trillion. The government debt ratio grew from 117% to 126%. Even Republicans are talking about the debt, which they created and claimed was good for the US.

I read today Trump claims the millions he’s made in stock deals as President were controlled by a third party. That’s just as transparent as his claims he’d release his taxes.

The national security threat isn’t the media. It’s the pathetic old man who aspires to impose a dictatorship.

Regarding Trump's threats and Brendan Carr's mischief - Section 326 of the Communications Act says the FCC receives no power of censorship and may not impose a regulation or condition interfering with freedom of speech by radio communication. Trump is already being sued by Disney for his threats.

Since 2025, Trump has fired 470 federal workers for disloyalty, imposed litmus tests for personal loyalty and demanded republican swear a loyalty oath to him in Dallas. This is a banana republic with personality cults, oligarchs and is dependent on foreign governments to stay in power.

Just like how the energy companies "self regulate" against air and water pollution. I mean, until it affects their profit margin which means "instantly". Then it's nah dawg. Shareholder value trumps human life.

Patel's argument is they don't want to discriminate against victims of sex trafficking who were forced into bestiality. Is the FBI flooded with applications from victims forced into bestiality?

Impeach and remove Vance. Trump would have to submit a replacement to Congress, which must vote in favor of his replacement. Otherwise, he serves without a VP. If he dies or is removed, the Speaker of the House becomes President. That's why voting matters.

If you haven't read about the radioactive contamination in North St Louis County, Missouri - you should. This is the after effect of the Manhattan Project. Where did it go? Into the creek and contaminated the entire 19 mile length. It's a rare disease cluster with thousands sickened with cancer.

Trump wants to stick name on everything like a deranged bridge tagger. Let’s name 9/11 after him. Like 9/11, he’s a national disaster. Like the terrorists, he’s foreign funded and knows enough to crash the plane. He thinks he’s a hero, and maybe to Americas enemies he is.

Let’s not compare 9/11’s intelligence failures with Iran. It’s the wrong comparison. Iran is more similar to the run-up to Vietnam where Johnson ignored the intelligence community. Trump and Johnson believed mass destruction would lead to capitulation. For Iran like Vietnam, survival is victory.

Before you believe you'll get $5K for voting for Trump, follow the pattern of his similar promises since 2015. Follow the money: he more reliably sends money to the groups who are the likeliest Trump supporters; not to those who need help.

When it’s an attack on Jews or Judaism, it’s anti-semitic. When it’s about the moral misconduct of an elected leader who has overseen disastrous wars and criminal abuse of civilians - it’s not anti-semitism. Genocide premised on religion is still Genocide whether in Germany, Cambodia, or Gaza.

Not really a surprise, though. Russia has been trying to re-divide Germany for several decades. That AfD is openly pro-Russia and espouses its racist rhetoric demonstrates Russia will confine to fund it.

Coincidence isn’t causality, but it’s interesting the States with the highest violations of federal voting rights laws are also the one who block military absentee voting and the strictest requirements for legal identification to vote. It’s surely coincidental but there’s a pattern .

Today's nerd project was analyzing an S25 phone I bought through Temu. As it was $50, I suspected it wasn't a real S25. It wasn't: it was a heavily modified 10 year old mass market phone with hardware device information impersonated in the One UI cloned interface. Temu provided a full refund.

Trump's recent claim that Michael Cohen "recanted" is wholly false. Reasonably, members of Congress should be demanding a mental health evaluation. He's unfit for office - physically and mentally.
