Read "The Sports Gene" by @davidepstein.bsky.social. Utterly fascinating. It had been on the To Read List for too long. If you are interested in sporting achievements, not just the games and scores, a highly recommended read

CBC is a national treasure. But why, why, why does @cbcgem.bsky.social making sign-in so difficult, every time? Happy that Gem is streaming the World Cycling Championships from YUL. But I shouldn't need an app on my TV and a phone to log in. And why can't it remember my account from day to day?

Finished "Hiding in Plain Sight" by the incredible @sarahkendzior.bsky.social. An important look at how DJT became Pres and how he stayed there. While published in 2019, it is still pertinent today. 10/10 recommend After reading this and "Road Trip" this summer, two realizations: .../2

Next up on classic bikes of Chicago, a beautiful Peugeot. 2x6 drivetrain and a Made in Canada decal on the chain stay. Peugeot sold Canadian made bikes in the US from 82 to 01 but, from the drivetrain, my guess is 80s. Then, this would be a unisex frame. Now we say mid-step

I've listened to both seasons of this pod. 10/10 recommend. It is well-written, well-produced, and presents clear facts and analysis on what Canada can, and cannot, do. It is, remarkably, reassuring. And read Stephen's great book, "The Next Civil War: Dispatches from the American Future"

Read & subscribe. O'Brien is one of few writers calling this out: "The American people chose Trump as their leader by solid majorities in the electoral college and a clear plurality in the popular vote...[and a] Congress that approved his Cabinet members and is allowing him to do what he is doing."
