Neighborhood listserv starts lighting up with anti e-bike rants I chime in about how it's mostly a design problem (no dedicated place to bike, so people biking are always in conflict with people walking or driving) I get tons of just-to-me replies thanking me for speaking up.

On a road trip in an EV this weekend & realized a new(ish) urbanism issue: EV chargers seem to be in random parking lots, but on a road trip the obvious choice is to eat while charging. But getting from the chargers to the food involves walking around massive parking lots or along sts wo sidewalks

Great article, and it think this is the key passage Parents see the benefits of giving their kids mobility through ebikes. But they don't have the proper information and end up buying emotos, which are often cheaper than ebikes. That's what we need to fix

I love WhatsApp groups and the fact that you can get a link for people to join. I wish there was an option for the link to be visible to all group members. For now, when I'm the admin, I get the link and put it in the group description but it could be easier

This morning was my last on the Bicibús to Escuela Key & my birthday. We had lots of special guests and a huge turn-out and it was super super special. I'm not a morning person, but riding with these amazing kiddos & seeing them has been an incredible gift. I'm so psyched it will keep on riding!

My 13yo bikes on the W&OD Trail daily to & from school. At the crossing of Walter Reed Dr, the drivers heading south are allowed to turn right on red when the trail traffic has a green My child sees close calls weekly here @arlingtondes.bsky.social refuses to put in a no right on red. Why?

My now-15 year old is a trend setter She's no cycling enthusiast, but she loves the freedom and flexibility her ebike provides her. She's been biking to school pretty much daily since 6th grade, when hers was often one of a handful of bikes on the racks. Now, those racks are full daily

To get to school, my daughter bikes down Glen Carlyn Dr in Culmore. There's a bike lane, but most days it's blocked by at least one @fcpsky.bsky.social school bus (parked). Today, the bike lane was also blocked by a Fairfax Police cruiser (parked) Do better @fairfaxcounty.gov

Do you have a rising 5th grader & live in Arlington, VA? The Arlington - Aachen exchange is for you - deets in pic. My 5th grader & I did it this year - we hosted a boy & his dad in October & were hosted by the same family over Spring Break. It was amazing - a true formative experience for my kid

This month, I got a new knee & my 10yo is in the hospital, but the scariest thing was getting this placard from Arlington's Bozman Center. First, this ice rink to get the building Then, standing 15 min (which would have been longer if not for kind people), bc there's no where to sit & wait
