finally got around to packing up our Bilenky tandem. It has S and S couplers and packs down to two suitcases. We have not ridden it at all this year, despite it nominally being our summer tandem. The Landescape with 2.25” gravel tyres is the go-to tandem, given the state of the roads here.

triply annoying as I didn’t get back in time to watch the end of the women’s road race and my attempts not to see who won failed

doubly annoying as I really don’t like to do out and back routes. it *must* be a loop

managed to lose my rear camera on a ride yesterday. when I noticed it was no longer there, I retraced my route but to no avail. Either it was in undergrowth so I couldn’t spot it or someone picked it up. very annoying.

cam belt has snapped on the van. been towed to my local garage and we’ll have to see quite how expensive this is going to be. the last time it happened it had a whole new engine.

newest member of our (extended) family seems to have settled remarkably well - this is only about 3.5 hours since arriving at her new home

my home roads - and unfortunately we are not there to see it today. All the KoMs will be put out of reach, I suspect.

it’s raining so much on the Vuelta that my RTVE feed has gone. They are having to show the finish line and the commentators - and even that is breaking up

Hail, though? FFS

Pleased with the Ratio long cage I got yesterday to upgrade a Force 1x rear mech’s capacity. Really nice bit of kit and made in the Lakes. Kendal mint cake included too!
Ratio silver and black rear mech cage in its packaging, which shows the fitting instructions. A Ratio sticker lurks behind the cage.

Yesterday morning we found our resident herring gull chicks had fledged and left the nest. This evening two are back demanding to be fed by their parents
