isa 🜄 @bike.dyke.city · 02/10/2025kitted 2 bikes with pelago commuter racks these last days. shoutout Bien Vélo for letting me hang in their workshop 🙏 always a good time 280 8
isa 🜄 @bike.dyke.city · 23/09/2025innerbarends finally arrived and wow. they're e-bike ready 😳😳 120 2
isa 🜄 @bike.dyke.city · 10/09/2025two perfectly healthy tires now in place. lots of annoying little issues popping up here and there. at least it hasn't cost me THAT much because of the lovely ncmc peeps giving me a gift card for my volunteering :3 decided to put 28-622 in front and 25-622 in rear to see if it handles comfier 100 1
isa 🜄 @bike.dyke.city · 26/08/2025chain replacement had 2 options: super sloppy and slightly too tight. because it'll stretch over time i went with tight, but that made me have to go back to the least bad 28-622 tire. that means it went from back->front->off->back! a full rotation!? 110 1
isa 🜄 @bike.dyke.city · 26/08/2025tried to swap quill stem for a less aggressive one since i don't have or want drop bars on this one. that thing is stuck as hell. ended up twisting the fork a bit despite 5-56 and hammered down wedge, bent it back to somewhat straight but damn. 110 1
isa 🜄 @bike.dyke.city · 25/08/2025didn't like putting my thumbs on threads so i flipped the fasteners 110 1
isa 🜄 @bike.dyke.city · 24/08/2025yay! sorry for the shitty pic i went to bed and remembered i should make progress pic lol 110 1
isa 🜄 @bike.dyke.city · 24/08/2025front tire seems to have been on its last legs for a WHILE. tried changing to the old beater tires (!! almost new) but the frame lacks the clearance, so i swapped the back tire to the front and used the old beater tire for the back. 110 1
isa 🜄 @bike.dyke.city · 24/08/2025as i tried to shift the saddle ever so slightly forward, the saddle mount nut gave out. luckily i had a spare seat post from the old beater!! 110 1
isa 🜄 @bike.dyke.city · 19/07/2025considering that the frame snapped a while back it's probably for the better. this i solved by hammering a seatpost in there 110 1
isa 🜄 @bike.dyke.city · 19/07/2025rest in peace beater bike. the spokes are so brittle i can't true the wheels anymore. 120 2
isa 🜄 @bike.dyke.city · 29/05/2025family time (fixing up my dads road bikes and going for a ride) 170 7
isa 🜄 @bike.dyke.city · 24/05/2025long time no see, road bike. new seatpost that is actually the right width installed. 020 2
isa 🜄 @bike.dyke.city · 08/05/2025i gotta say. the reach is a bit much for me right now. thinking i'll swap back to the previous steering tube 130 3
isa 🜄 @bike.dyke.city · 08/05/2025guess who's feeling better! new handlebar, new brake wires + wire hoses and a new rear wheel rim 150 5
isa 🜄 @bike.dyke.city · 07/05/2025alright. everybody say thank you for the rims and handlebar mr trash sco! 140 4
isa 🜄 @bike.dyke.city · 06/05/2025wrapped it anyway. figure if i'm gonna try to straighten it out, the dampening wouldn't hurt. 120 2
isa 🜄 @bike.dyke.city · 06/05/2025started peeling the old handlebar wrap off. underneath seems to be the original wrap. it smells like an old church. oh yeah!! the reason the right brake handle doesn't have a cable is because the rear caliper brake would constantly sit against the tire when i got it 130 3
isa 🜄 @bike.dyke.city · 06/05/2025check this out. there's a metal lump on the shelf of the back rim, where the beads are supposed to go. it doesn't budge whatsoever when tried. this, coupled with a good flat spot in the rim is giving it a nasty bump when ridden. very likely how i got that first flat. 140 4
isa 🜄 @bike.dyke.city · 06/05/2025new tire is on. after the fourth seating i ran into a brand new problem. 140 4
isa 🜄 @bike.dyke.city · 06/05/2025right so here we go. against my better judgement i rode it to and from my buddy's house 4km away from the commuter rail. flat rear tire halfway back 270 7
