A bit surprised not to see the Skydance merger in the subject line. All points made by the panel should be kept fully in mind, with all of that debt David Ellison has on his shoulders. I am curious to see what will happen with the legacy cable outlets--including CNN, TNT, and TBS among them.

I guess we can say that the Guardians will get blasted by the Rays next week--because Tampa Bay was the best team in the American League all season. They are practically unbeatable at home with their new roof. In a way, Chicago fans can be grateful that they won't get embarrassed for the AL pennant.

That home run by José Ramirez just had enough lift to get it over the fence. Otherwise, they would still be playing. The White Sox would have hosted Game 5 had they beaten Colorado on the last Saturday of the regular season, because of the tiebreaker rule. What a season it was for Chicago.

Go back two weeks. Had the Sox won that Saturday game against Colorado, it would have been Chicago hosting Game 5 instead of Cleveland because of the tiebreaker rule. As it turned out, what a hell of a season. Where we they picked during spring training? Proved a lot of people wrong.

If you follow the price of oil (Texas intermediate crude for American cars, and diesel for the trucks) that ship our foods, furniture, and yes presents yet somehow jack up the price when the sun isn’t shining. If we didn’t get dragged into this war, gas prices would be at least $1 less per gallon.

Realizing the fact that thousands of people had to evacuate from their homes and businesses, we have to pray for them, and question those who stayed behind. Having lived through a derecho, I had to evacuate twice once there was a small break in the rain. Besides, you never play with Mother Nature.💧⛈️

The NCAA tournament as “untouchable”. Really? It wouldn’t surprise me if at least a chunk of games, if one or two of the legacy cable outlets ends up being cut and there could be a literal “fight” to see who would end up carrying some of those early round games (the contract expires in 2032.)

Until Skydance bites the dust (remember how the AOL-Time Warner deal in 2009 turned out?), boycott! Not just the affected stations, but many of the companies that advertise on their shows. Hit them where it hurts. It’s the least we as consumers can do.

I would say TNT, TBS, and truTV. Expect several spots properties to switch companies, starting with the NHL in 2028, baseball by the end of the decade, and the NCAA men’s basketball tournament by 2032.
