Yeah I did 3 ft of pvc pipe, cut into 1ft/2ft. Got 2ft of a larger size it could slide into. Glued 1 ft of the smaller inside the larger (so there would be 1 ft overlap with the 2ft piece). Shaped the foam a few inches beyond the entry point, then used an athletic wrap to join and simulate the grip
