but I dont find issue with low rise buildings, its better than having obnoxiously large skyscrapers completely changing the look of the neighborhood which is what happened to Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn. The smaller apartment buildings and ma and pa shops gave way to generic luxury high rises

I’m still a bit confused with some characters, like there’s two that seem to be from the past that are somehow there in the present day, and it sort of overwrites part of the story of the original (episodes 1 to 12 plus rebellion), also Homura felt weaker for lack of better term

Finally got to see Madoka Magica Walpurgisnaxht rising, thank you random Mexican fan who videotaped it and put it online as there is still no US release date. Once again the visuals are stunning, the mixed media of the witch related stuff is amazing, and the musical score is just perfect!

The last thing I want to see is the furry fandom become a caste system where you have only the wealthy and popufurs being able to attend certain conventions and/or stay at the main hotels because of money or connections. That’s not what this place is all about.

Yup, this isn’t 2016 where you had major furry cons having like 2000 people. Those days are largely over unless you are at one of the smaller conventions. At some point mid size cons like Furpocalypse may have to grab the big venues in Hartford where Connecticon is held for example

I also am thankful that the fandom has largely rejected AI Slop as well as the other tech bro scams such as NFTs and Cryptocurrencies. Being around the fandom for 25 years I’ve seen a lot of fads come and go regarding fursona designs and whatnot, but I am glad those didn’t even gain any traction

The same hotels for FWA also host Dragoncon which has 80,000 attendees plus I do like the addition of shuttle buses, which I also appreciated quite a lot during this past Anthrocon

I do like the fact there are newer conventions popping up in cities where there wasn’t any before. Soon there may be a furry con in every state! I take solace in the fact my home convention of Furry Weekend Atlanta has a proven model of being able to handle much larger events

Do the convention sites have enough overflow hotels to handle everyone? This has been an issue for Midwest fur fest where I have heard from multiple people despite there being a room lottery they were unable to get a room at ANY hotel. I’m not talking just the Hyatt I mean the overflow ones too!

If you look at anthrocon’s attendance from 2016 according to wiki fur it was in the 7310, this years anthrocon was 20,618!! That is more than double 10 years later. It’s to a point where they are limiting registration since the building is reaching capacity! I worry about can furry cons keep up

So I was having a chat earlier with friends about the future of the fandom, and honestly my biggest concern isn’t politicians or the 5 or 6 Republican furries, or whatever puriteen nonsense of the week is, to me it’s the conventions and making sure they can handle the continued growth of the fandom

I remember Florida was a swing state, but what I witnessed living in NY during Covid a lot of people moved to Florida in that time period to get away from the COVID restrictions, DeSantis first term he barely won, second term with all the new republicans in the state he won much more handedly
