Weidorje - Vilna. First heard this from a Steve Davis (if you know him you know him) DJ set a few years back, blew my mind. Who knew Steve Davis was into this shit. Anyway, from the same kinda genre as Magma, bit of Gong. Dissonant, weird, groovy. www.youtube.com/watch?v=uyHb...

Sploosh by Ozric Tentacles. They are to prog what ACDC is to rock - one thing, over and over but the best there is at it. This is a little different from them - last album before 2 members left and formed Eat Static. You can here the dance influence. I love this one. www.youtube.com/watch?v=MttL...

Another! My Dear Wormwood, from Echolyn - often compared to yes and Gentle Giant, with the harmonies and intricate meloldies and jarring changes between sections. This is my favourite song by them. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IDI...

Another...ish. It's not prog, but...it's close really. More jazz\funk\fusion but the progression has elements of prog and it's instrumental and AND! you will never see a happier band playing live at such a high level. It just makes me smile whenever I see it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=vlbn...

Another! www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdaq... Intermezzo from Patrick Moraz' "the story of I". The whole album needs a listen, but it's a funky, jazzy, Brazilian influenced journey into madness. Made after Yes released Relayer, this was his solo album (they all did one). This, with Olias, is my fave.

Underrated and overlooked prog songs. Another? www.youtube.com/watch?v=IaLq... Gentle Giant - hard to get into for many prog fans, weird and dissonant at times, jarring time signatures but beautiful sections - the section from 2:30 onwards - wind instruments, bassline and the synths - awesome!

Underrated and overlooked prog songs. Here is another. www.youtube.com/watch?v=V852... PFM. It's beautiful, epic, weird, it develops into a medieval section and it still blows my mind today. Concise yet open and deep. It's like if Jimi Hendrix crashed a baroque party with a medieval theme.

Underrated and overlooked prog songs. Here is one. Down and Out from "...and then there were three" is often overlooked by prog fans because the album is maybe the start of the journey towards pop-prog (or whatever you call it). It is, however, a complete banger. www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjLE...

@moiragentry.bsky.social Ever heard of Crack The Sky? This is my fave from them, if you've not heard it I think you will dig. www.youtube.com/watch?v=PciU... It basically has everything from later 70s prog - excellent production as well. Hope you like it!

Listening to the new Opeth Album, The last will and testament. Loving it so far, seems a great mix of the growly and the beautiful harmonics of Blackwater Park. I can still hear a Porcupine Tree influence - heavy, progressive, slightly cheesey and lacking irony, but also deep, emotional and epic. 👍
