This float switch is connected to the reed switch input of a #Tuya compatible garage door controller. A little automation turns on the pump when the switch closes and when it opens it waits ten seconds and turns the pump off.

This may be the oldest standing building in Istanbul. It’s a church in the grounds of Topkapi Palace. It was built in the 4th century and rebuilt/adapted in 6th century. It was used as a store house by the sultans so it survived until the modern era.
