Sopranos is obviously a seinen that's in the MAL Top 10 but contrary to popular belief, Breaking Bad was serialized in a shonen magazine. The Wire is an anime original that doesn't have a demographic but it has a one volume manga adaptation that was in a shoujo. Twin Peaks is a josei.

Very surreal experience remembering reading through a Discord argument I got into four years ago when I was very much not emotionally mature

In the span of about a year, I have seen three different friends who I've met and interact with through drastically different contexts read through JoJo for the first time and all three of them hated Part 2

If I'm making a video on a game, I usually prefer to have the game ost I use in the background mostly be from the one I'm talking about but if the video is about a Nintendo game, I go out of my way to use ost from other sources to increase my credibility

L: You hear about the Oscars last night? Light (internally): Does L think Kira would want Will Smith to be brought to justice? Or does L think Kira would see the slap as an act of justice Chris Rock deserved? Thankfully, his wording is vague enough for me to deflect Light: Don't Look Up was robbed

Chuunibiyou wiping their hand with a paper towel after putting in the water cooler to get a drink: "This cursed arm of mine has its uses. But I must not rely on its power too often or else I walk the path of destruction."

What is the largest amount of spells you can junction in FFVIII? In Disc 3, after the Lunar Cry, the Moombas become aggressive toward Squall and start attacking them. You can actually fight and defeat these Moombas. By doing this, the Moombas become aggressive toward Squall and start attacking them

Jackal of Nahueltoro (1969) 10/13/26 Unfortunate that it's hard to find a good quality upload of it with English subtitles because it's otherwise such a strong piece in its advocacy for rehabilitation even for the seemingly unforgiviable

Guy who thinks animation isn't cinema but voice acting is. Like this theoretical guy would support the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature either just being given to that year's Disney movie or not existing but would also advocate for a best VA category being added

Tokyo Ghoul (2011-2014) 10/12/26 Largely found its narrative to be a very standard Devilman-adjacent "hero with monster powers" story but sometimes its edginess is cool (case in point: the "I am a ghoul" sequence) and the art can be really good at points

I'm going to speak my truth and say that pretzels are an OBJECTIVELY better food than popcorn. Pretzels, much like arcade games, require SKILL and don't overstay their welcome whereas popcorn is like a narrative focused RPG with a MIND NUMBING loop of repeatedly putting the popcorn in your mouth

Primetime (2026) 10/10/26 Great experience as something that so clearly tapping into a trend of 00s nostalgia while being cyncial of that time period beyond just that subject matter. Love how it mixes contempt for the entertainment industry with genuine curiosity for the technical side of things

Breaking Bad Season 1 (2008) 10/8/26 Rough in some regards for reasons that are almost certainly due to the writers strike and the editing style in particular kinda annoys me but interested enough in its character writing to see where it goes

It's always fun rotating shows with clashing tones. One is a morally gray character study about a badass who just wants to get money to provide for their loved ones while an annoying blonde nags them and the other is an incel comedy where Bryan Cranston says he hates women for 62 episodes straight.

ngl before watching Breaking Bad, it never occurred to me that Walt losing his hair would be caused by something as natural as his chemo treatments. I kinda just imagined him having an anime monologue where he gives a speech about his resolve and cuts it off in front of his partners in crime

Purple Noon (1960) 10/7/26 Incredibly well crafted crime thriller. I love how both it and Talented Mr Ripley are different takes on a similar turn of events with the latter making Tom Ripley easier to empathize with and this one reveling in how much of a criminal genius he is

Light Turner (Death Note 2017) could beat any fictional character without the need for the Death Note as long as they are at least eighteen years old as he can inform them that attacking him would legally count as child abuse

If I was a parent, I wouldn't tell my kids about Santa Claus. I wouldn't feel right lying to them and I don't want them to grow up expect everything they want to appear magically. Instead I'd tell them about Guts, who may be fictional but speaks to our real ability to struggle and come out on top.

Two chapters behind but yeah, felt like the prospect of the past generation's crimes committed was more interesting when it was something that existed through the abstracted form of the characters talking about it than when motivations and stuff are actually one display

My position on save states is that you need to have one specific series/genre that you treat as enough of a dick measuring contest mechanically that you'd refuse to use a save state in it and then you can do whatever you want for any other game. My dick measuring contest series is Fire Emblem.

Nostalghia (1983) 10/4/26 Watched late enough to spend a good percent of it having issues following the plot but still being compelled by the melancholy atmosphere defined by stillness and then the final stretch just hit. Gotta appreciate something committed to requiring a viewer's full attention
