"Companies emit tens of thousands of tons of methane each year on Navajo lands, wasting more than a billion cubic feet of gas." That's enough wasted gas to supply every home in the US w/ natural gas through the winter. The injustice runs deeper than the pollution itself: bit.ly/3UY5osH

Congressional Democrats are scrutinizing electric utilities, not just oil and gas, as prices climb. The culprit: a regulatory model that lets utilities earn more profit the more they spend, incentivizing them to overbuild at OUR expense. politi.co/4cgY954

Oil & gas has spent a year lobbying to weaken methane reporting rules, while publicly claiming to support transparency. AGA & API pushed EPA to loosen hidden-pollution disclosure rules, while urging to keep the reporting program, only to claim credit for "voluntary progress." bit.ly/4geZ5Ic

That's a wrap on July's #PolluterOfTheMonth: EOG Resources. EOG dropped its 2040 net-zero target. Since then: 20+ satellite-detected super-emitters, a $2.5M Clean Air Act penalty, & a failing InfluenceMap grade. Not "leading environmental performance." Thanks to Deanne Cheuk for the art!

Toxic & invisible gasses called volatile organic compounds are a common byproduct of fracking. These gasses are supposed to be captured & burned to reduce harm, but at this EOG site our OGI cameras discovered it was being polluted directly into the air. biggaspolluters.org/polluter-of-...
