Is it normal practice for a government agency scientist, and others, to rebut other scientists’ unpublished work (pre-print) and send it to a government Minister, without telling the original authors and giving them a chance to respond? Seems mighty uncool to me.

A graphic showcasing the coat colors of Big Desert Dingoes, highlighting their darker and more striking colouration compared to the typical sandy or golden ginger hue of other dingoes.A graphic titled "Big Desert Dingo Coat Variants: Black" displays a variety of dingoes with black coats and different markings. The text explains that Big Desert Dingoes are known for their black-based coats, which are often accented with tan or white markings. These distinctive patterns create a striking contrast and set them apart from other dingo populations.A graphic titled "Big Desert Dingo Coat Variants: Sable" displays a variety of dingoes with sable coats. The text explains that in addition to black variants, Big Desert Dingoes also exhibit sable-colored coats, characterised by a blend of black-tipped fur overlaying a lighter base colour. This creates a unique and striking appearance.A graphic titled "What Influences Coat Colour?" explains that the unique coloration of Big Desert Dingoes is thought to be influenced by a combination of genetic variation, environmental factors, and evolutionary adaptation. The darker coat provides better camouflage in the dense, vegetated landscapes of the Big Desert, offering protection from humans and aiding in hunting.
