12. PEAK Biggest gripe with this game is the name. Cool marketing gimmick but its annoying to communicate lol. This game very much encourages fellowship and teamwork though, more than most co-op games, and it's just a very nice game overall. Could be better optimised but UE5 :')

10. No Players Online It sucks this game had a rocky launch, and while it definitely went in a more sci-fi direction as opposed to horror, I still very much enjoyed it! Hopefully it gets re-added to steam soon.

8. S.P.L.I.T. An incredible puzzle game that takes place inside a command line. Incredibly gripping story, especially if you've played mike klubnika's previous works.

6. Butcher's Creek As a David Szymanski fan, this felt like something very special. Butcher's Creek is Szymanski's final unity game and something in the works for a while. It was awesome seeing what David had in store this time. Satisfying combat and scares... Also turkey door.

5. Nubby's Number Factory I originally bought this game as a joke because I thought it would suck. It was incorrectly tagged as "horror" and similar, so I thought it would be a crappy bait-and-switch horror game, but instead I was met with what can only be described as "Peak".

4. ENA: Dream BBQ This is a game that's super inspiring to me, it's such a surreal and interesting world with so much packed into it, so much talent in this hour or so of gameplay that is unforgettable. Also it's free.

3. White Knuckle Gameplay-wise, this is my favourite game this year. Such a gruelling but rewarding game. I can't wait for the updates to come, this is one of the best rougelikes I've ever played.

2. Easy Delivery Co. This is what a cozy game should be, imo. Not just farming or a town with NPCs, it's a rich atmospheric world that relaxes you and makes you want to be there. It's an escape to do something easy and repetitive with some twists and turns, too. Also great OST.

Now for the actual list... For first place, my favourite game of 2025 was Shooty Shooty Robot Invasion! Underrated as hell, this game needs the flowers it deserves. The intro is a bit slow but it's on its feet and moving once level 2 rolls around. Please give this a try.

Honourable Mention 2&3: Mindwave & 500 Caliber Contractz These are just demos, but I am beyond excited for these games, They're so unique and addictive even if they both only feature one level.

First off, some honourable mentions: Honourable Mention 1: DELTARUNE I would really count Deltarune as #1, but I don't think it's fair as it's just an episodic release and didn't actually start this year, but just know, if it counted, it would be my favourite.
