Sorry I haven't uploaded much lately. I haven't stopped drawing, I just dont upload much anymore. In Anishinaabeg style artwork, a line is often drawn through and around the subject(s), symbolizing the connection of all things.

I was feeling extra nostalgic yesterday since it was my birthday, so I finished this.

One thing about my generation that I don’t think people can fully appreciate unless they experienced it themselves was the sheer creativity of digital art on the internet in the 2000s. The art often lacked the technical skill that we have access to today, but there was never a shortage of imagination. People were constantly inventing characters, especially animal characters, with designs that were completely their own.

Looking back, it’s easy to see how much we were inspired by things like Warriors, The Lion King, and Balto. Those stories shaped an entire generation of kids who spent hours drawing wolves, lions, dogs, and every imaginable combination of the three.

Ever since I was a kid, I wanted so badly to be one of those artists who could pick up a stylus and put the exact image they were seeing in their mind onto a digital canvas. Not because I wanted to be famous, but because I wanted the ability to take a completely blank canvas and turn it into something that genuinely captured the spirit of the wolf.

Knowing that I’ve reached a skill level that 11-year-old me could only dream of means more to me than artistic fame ever could.

In a way, I think I finally became the artist that kid always wanted to be.

I saw this beautiful woman in a dream, where she claimed to be my angel. We ran around through this city and past that building in the background (Yes, the air duct was part of it) and told me she was bringing me great wealth soon. Full dream is in alt text, Time-lapse in comments!

I met this beautiful girl outside of a library that looked like the Parthanon with blue and purple stained glass windows between each column. We walked across that air duct you see going along the building, talking and chatting.

We sat on a wall by a traffic signal, and across the street was a playground. We sat watching them and she asked me "do you think angels are capable of changing your life?" And I responded "Well, if angels were real-" and she cut me off and said "they are!" And I responded saying "well then yes, im sure they are capable of changing people's lives."

She then smiled and said "perfect, because I am working on getting you tons of wealth!" And I said something like "ah good, I could use money. " she then had this guilty look on her face and I asked her "oh right, not THAT kind of wealth. It comes in many forms, right?" I then woke up.

I thought I uploaded this, but I guess not. This is Our Lady of Sorrows, depicted in the Aztec style, though the mask is of the Haida tribe. Our Lady of Guadalupe actually has indigenous origins, which is what inspired this piece. She is painted yellow, like the goddess Coyolxauhqui.
