BigAlSpurs @bigalspurs.bsky.social · 11/10/2026I’m with you. The foundations are there. Might take a season and another couple of transfer windows but I’m absolutely convinced we are going to be a very good side under him. 010

BigAlSpurs @bigalspurs.bsky.social · 20/09/2026Given how long they stuck with Frank, and the amount of money spent, he’s going nowhere this season. At least there are patches of good football and chances being created, couldn’t say that under Frank, felt directionless. Not getting the 1st goal to change the game state has hurt us in every game 000
BigAlSpurs @bigalspurs.bsky.social · 15/09/2026The lack of consistency in egg cooking method yield is a very real problem that doesn’t get spoken about enough in the public discourse Solution: Always hard boil them. Anything else is insanity. 000
BigAlSpurs @bigalspurs.bsky.social · 14/09/2026Arsenal rumour or not, I believe Romero wanted out and could’ve been a problem if we didn’t make it happen. Van Hecke looks a very important cog in what we’re trying to do. Hopefully his positional deficiency improves as the team cohesion does: smaller spaces to cover and improved communication 110
BigAlSpurs @bigalspurs.bsky.social · 13/09/2026I think this season we are levels above anything we showed last year. There was some real fluency at times yesterday, just not consistently. Never saw any fluency at all under Frank. 000
BigAlSpurs @bigalspurs.bsky.social · 03/09/2026Broadly agree. So interesting to see what Ange could have done with the right squad profile & players of higher quality. The biggest frustration for me is that his philosophy is what all fans (Spurs or otherwise) love to see…Outscore the opposition. Could have been amazing with technical superiority 040
BigAlSpurs @bigalspurs.bsky.social · 03/09/2026Felt wrong to ditch him at the time and I’ve never shaken that since. Given the unmitigated disaster that was Frank and now the big summer splurge, feels like he could easily have seen around to deliver the upside that always felt like it was there were it not for injuries and poor squad planning 170

BigAlSpurs @bigalspurs.bsky.social · 19/08/2026Congratulations Ali…what a milestone and very well deserved! Thanks for all that you do for the club and fanbase. 030
BigAlSpurs @bigalspurs.bsky.social · 15/08/2026Respectfully, the only tomatoes I ever eat are those I didn’t plant 😉 020
BigAlSpurs @bigalspurs.bsky.social · 13/08/2026Whilst I respect & understand your logic, the ultimate role of a captain is to lead the team to perform to the best of its capability. None of us know which individual is best placed to do that because we aren’t in the squad and we don’t know which character the majority of players respond to best. 110
BigAlSpurs @bigalspurs.bsky.social · 09/08/2026Out of all of them, the only one with any consistent fitness is Tel. The rest either are currently injured, recovering, or have a history that suggests they won’t make it through a season. A real problem for the club because potential buyers know this too and the risk will be priced in… 020
BigAlSpurs @bigalspurs.bsky.social · 29/07/2026Agree, he does offer something different. More of a quarterback style, & if afforded time, an eye for a weighted through ball. My main reservation…seems a little slow, caught in possession and/or giving the ball away if hurried From the bench could be a useful weapon, especially vs low blocks 000
BigAlSpurs @bigalspurs.bsky.social · 29/07/2026Oh great! Must have been from a very learned individual 😉 I will look forward to listening to the answer! 020
BigAlSpurs @bigalspurs.bsky.social · 29/07/2026Assuming Kroupi is out of reach. Which centre forward would you go out and try to get? And is the likely outlay enough of an upgrade to make it worth it? 110
BigAlSpurs @bigalspurs.bsky.social · 28/07/2026Buy them both. Play them together. Sure Damiao might have lost a yard or six but people like you with no ambition are part of the problem 😉 120
BigAlSpurs @bigalspurs.bsky.social · 23/07/2026Comes across as a really humble, nice, well balanced guy. Really think he was one of the biggest victims of Frankball and could be one of the biggest beneficiaries of De Zerbi’s more possession based relational style. A much better fit for his talents. 020
BigAlSpurs @bigalspurs.bsky.social · 23/07/2026How did Bardi get the BBC column gig, and how does he come up with his metaphors? 000
BigAlSpurs @bigalspurs.bsky.social · 23/07/2026Great video guys! My theory re. the injuries…domino effect. Initial injuries + lack of depth + European campaign + lack of quality = those not injured and good enough playing too much football This leads to rushing injured players back Both of the above lead to a higher risk of more injuries 010
BigAlSpurs @bigalspurs.bsky.social · 21/07/2026That picture is like one of those filters where it puts a silly haircut on you 😊 010
BigAlSpurs @bigalspurs.bsky.social · 06/07/2026To be able to get booked and pickup a serious injury in a game you’ve played no part in is serious commitment to the cause. Mentality monster. 020
BigAlSpurs @bigalspurs.bsky.social · 06/07/2026Good player but the fees are utter madness. He’s had less than one good season in the prem so far. Just as likely to regress as kick on. £85m should be a cast iron proven striker, not a hot prospect This from Bournemouth would’ve been £20 odd million not long ago The prem bubble continues to grow 010
BigAlSpurs @bigalspurs.bsky.social · 23/06/2026He’s earned it. Also, he’s a known quantity. They know what he’s capable of, in training and in the pressure of games. If they think he’s #1 material, great! It frees up funds and attention to go into other areas of the squad. An experienced but strong ball playing backup in Dubravka is fine. 000
BigAlSpurs @bigalspurs.bsky.social · 22/06/2026I can’t blame him for pushing hard. He’s in a position of strength; 1) he saved us 2) the board committed to change 3) No authoritative DOF so he has huge sway Ultimately, a manager gets little credit for developing players unless he wins consistently…you lose your job and the next guy benefits 010
BigAlSpurs @bigalspurs.bsky.social · 22/06/2026We’ve craved intent in the transfer market for a LONG time, we’re now showing it…inevitably it brings casualties as players see less game time as more established players sign. It’s not binary; win now or project. Success enhances the project; we become a more attractive talent destination 100
BigAlSpurs @bigalspurs.bsky.social · 21/06/2026I think it speaks to a mindset shift our fanbase needs to go through. Perpetual potential isn’t enough. If they don’t fit, sell them and get a better ready made fit, or at worst buy a new player with potential that does fit 000
BigAlSpurs @bigalspurs.bsky.social · 21/06/2026I think we have an inbuilt fear of players “getting away” because our recent policy has been youth development and we’ve generally spent badly on players in their prime. I think the biggest clubs fret less because they know the next big signing is likely just round the corner 100
BigAlSpurs @bigalspurs.bsky.social · 21/06/2026I’m fine with any sale if the player doesn’t fit the RDZ profile. We’ve committed to him; I’d rather that commitment is absolute. General consensus; he’s a top coach…keeping players he doesn’t rate is counter productive. If he’s gone in 2 years, that’s 2 years Bergvall hasn’t played or developed 130
BigAlSpurs @bigalspurs.bsky.social · 01/06/2026Brilliant article as always sir *doths cap*. My only build..I think there’s an intersection of the long decline & off a cliff arguments. The injury crisis & lack of adequate cover (the cliff) is a symptom of operating below the level of our peers for a prolonged period (the gradual decline) 031
BigAlSpurs @bigalspurs.bsky.social · 28/01/2026Agree Jack. Lots to legitimately criticise this season but tonight showed what we are capable of. Like that the formation allowed Xavi to get on it more, maybe a template to follow, at least until the end of the season 020
BigAlSpurs @bigalspurs.bsky.social · 18/01/2026And by this point there should be at least some signs of progression, collectively and individually. I struggle to think of any. I do believe we need to back a manager and a project but what sane person sticks with something where all of the tangible evidence suggests the outcomes are negative? 000
BigAlSpurs @bigalspurs.bsky.social · 18/01/2026The reason he has to go, beyond all else, is that the only time we look even half decent is when we’re already losing and the game becomes chaotic. In normal state, we’re too easy to defend against and too easy to attack against. Semi decent patches when you’ve nothing to lose is not progress. 110
BigAlSpurs @bigalspurs.bsky.social · 17/01/2026If he goes, maybe the late goal is a dark blessing. Another “unlucky” 1-1 probably doesn’t move the needle but I think this may. Probably gonna give it Heitinga to the end of the season. Most likely brought in with one eye on that. 000
BigAlSpurs @bigalspurs.bsky.social · 17/01/2026We should be called Noughts (through balls) and Crosses FC 010
BigAlSpurs @bigalspurs.bsky.social · 17/01/2026Worryingly I don’t think the players have downed tools. Just no ability to keep or progress the ball at pace means we are constantly out of shape and the defensive distances are wrong as well. If this keeps happening it’s no wonder individuals get disheartened constantly caught out of position 000
BigAlSpurs @bigalspurs.bsky.social · 17/01/2026We’re easy to defend against and easy to attack against. It’s so poor and it’s embarrassing. 030
BigAlSpurs @bigalspurs.bsky.social · 17/01/2026I like the recognition of the divide between supporters and club. I also like the specific reference to wage structure, very pointed and deliberate. Feels like we are at the forming or maybe early storming stage of the exec setup. Question is, how long until we get to norming and performing? 010
