I disagree with you. I thought I was being polite. I don't consider reaching out to understand as passive aggressive. However, I do think your response was both unkind and rude.

Thank you! I sincerely appreciate your response. It's helpful to me, because I want to understand and to do the right thing. I would be happy to capitalize Black when writing. I didn't know that. In future, I won't interact with posts where I might offend. I certainly didn't mean to be rude.

... 2 of 2: clarify what she meant. If it's inappropriate or rude for me to comment on posts by POC, of course I won't! But did she mean always wrong, or just wrong for certain topics, such as racial discrimination? I don't know! I'm trying to do the right thing, here.

I'm certainly no expert. I'll have to read up on the subject, but not today. I *do* know that cable cars (also electric and on rails) are unique to San Francisco. The grip man grabs an underground steel cable, which pulls the car up the steep streets. And he also has to apply brakes going down.

Oh! Well ... sorry you were disappointed! Oldest, though? The oldest continuously operating streetcar line in the world is the St. Charles Streetcar Line in New Orleans, Louisiana, which began service in 1835. The London subway began in 1863, so ... Or was that just a typo?

What state police? Municipalities have police forces (many of whom are unfortunately right-wing and Trump voters). California's former state police is now the CHP (CA Highway Patrol). So other than giving traffic tickets to ICE vehicles, they won't be much use.

Pretty! My lungs don't like candle smoke, so I use a warmer that melts the wax and releases the fragrance without having to light the wick. I miss the glow, though!
