Came up in my FB memories, and I figured it's a Beans classic. (I think I even might still have the monochrome t-shirt of this.)
Colored version of Beans Barton's 1992 painting "Hot Houston Sushi", picturing a man dangling a palmetto bug over his open mouth like a delicacy, just as the antenna breaks off and the bug falls into his mouth

It's not incorrect, but I find the warning for explicit content about the bluntness of "Your Dictionary" to be HI-LARIOUS.

Setec Astronomy. …wait, sorry, I meant "Sneakers". (I first got wind of this at NanCon-88 1991 with one of these pins. It wasn't until July 1992 before we saw the first trailer, and all of us in the gang went "DAAAAAAAANG", and then the movie hit and boy howdy did it pay off.)

Welp, happy anniversary. FIFTY. YEARS. As always, I will quote: “the legendary,” ”the groundbreaking,” “the very cheap to make.” And also as always, one must note: If it ain't Stiff…

Tumblr post, stating "science fiction as a genre was invented specifically to show lesbians some greasy sweaty women in tank tops fixing machinery", then showing a clip from Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress of a sweaty woman in a tanktop and goggles working on a bunch of steampunk stuff. Two Facebook comments:
"I thought it was invented to tell Lord Byron that he's not as cool as he thinks he is?"
followed by the same person also stating:
"The sweaty, greasy, hyper-competent engineer ladies in sports bras/tank tops is off-label use; crucial to the genre now, but not the intended usecase."

reply threads did a thing
a series of replies to the xkcd I'm reposting:
Halfgild Wynac:
"I miss the days when cheating at chess was just sticking a vibrator up your ass"

The next, unconnected reply from Sojourner Dusk:
"In case you were unaware, there is a Chess game which has a similar exploitation mechanic involved." This has a link to an article about 5D chess and multiverse spanning.

(And, I'm assuming, ass vibrators as well.)

Which is then quote-tweeted by the official account for the Pogues:

Two pages from Shrinklits by Maurice Sagoff, condensing Beowulf:

Monster Grendel's tastes are plainish.
Breakfast? Just a couple Danish.

King of Danes is frantic, very.
Wait! Here comes the Malmö ferry

Bringing Beowulf, his neighbor,
Mighty swinger with a saber!

Hrothgar's warriors hail the Swede,
Knocking back a lot of mead;

Then, when night engulfs the Hall
And the Monster makes his call,

Beowulf, with body-slam
Wrenches off his arm, Shazam!

Monster's mother finds him slain,
Grabs and eats another Dane!

Down her lair our hero jumps,
Gives old Grendel's dam her lumps.

Later on, as king of Geats
He performed prodigious feats

Till he met a foe too tough
(Non-Beodegradable stuff)

And that scaly-armored dragon
Scooped him up and fixed his wagon.

Sorrow-stricken, half the nation
Flocked to Beowulf's cremation;
Round his pyre, with drums a-muffle
Did a Nordic soft-shoe shuffle.
