Did you know Kubernetes 1.37 can run node components without full host-root privileges? `KubeletInUserNamespace` is now Beta. Root inside a Linux user namespace ≠ root on the host. The deeper I go into Linux, the less Kubernetes feels like magic. 😄 #Kubernetes #Linux #kubestronaut

Another small OSS update from OpenTelemetry OBI PR #3360. What I enjoy most about contributing here is that every change forces me to understand a little more of the actual eBPF pipeline instead of learning concepts in isolation. Working on few more Issues. github.com/open-telemet...

Fix GraphQL test span selection and upgrade Jaeger to v2 by bhargav0605 · Pull Request #3360 · open-telemetry/opentelemetry-ebpf-instrumentation
Summary Closes #2891. red_test_python_graphql.go read lastTrace.Spans[0] and asserted it was the GraphQL span. Jaeger makes no guarantee about span ordering within a trace, so that only worked whil...

Been spending more time contributing to @opentelemetry.io eBPF Instrumentation (OBI). Reading and changing a real eBPF codebase has been one of the best ways for me to understand how production instrumentation is actually designed. github.com/open-telemet...

store-demo: add an Aerospike-backed recentlyviewed service by bhargav0605 · Pull Request #3228 · open-telemetry/opentelemetry-ebpf-instrumentation
Summary Closes #2532. The store demo had no Aerospike workload, so the instrumentation added in #2545 wasn't demonstrated anywhere. This adds recentlyviewed, a small Java service that records p...

Kubernetes Pods don’t restart like most people think. Runtime = Pod → Sandbox → Containers. Pod is intent, sandbox holds namespaces + IP, containers are processes. Modern K8s can restart containers without deleting the Pod same IP, sidecars live. Hence readiness + SIGTERM matter. Building PoC.

I have been exploring how @kubernetes.io manages the in place update of the pod and trying to replicate and understand the code. If you would like to explore the same and see a little PoC on the same thing, Please tag along. LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/bhargav-p... #ProofOfConcept… Show more

I have been reading @cilium.io OSS code base and one thing I learned: How do they maintain 100+ component without any chaos? Their answer is Hive. I have built a small poc on this: github.com/bhargav0605/... Complexity isn’t the number of components, it is about how they are wired.
