Verbolten: Forbidden Turn has officially opened to BGW membership holders! Stay tuned for thoughts ASAP!

BGWFans @bgwfans.com · 29/05/2026

Just got another Forbidden Turn update from BGW staff. Verbolten is currently undergoing final, state-required safety checks. Mechanical problems have been resolved by the sounds of things. Hoping to open "soon."

Current state of the Verbolten: Forbidden Turn line pictured below. Stretching down the start of the Ponte del Accordo bridge right now—not TOO terrible, but still no opening timeline updates yet.

Big Verbolten: Forbidden Turn timeline update: BGW leadership is now advising the queue that the coaster is very unlikely to open before noon, but maintenance has been working all night long and they DO still expect the attraction to open to pass members at some point today.

Verbolten: Forbidden Turn is set to open exclusively to pass members at 11am this morning! BGW leadership is telling folks in line currently "at least 11am" suggesting it could be a little later though—something to keep in mind. We'll keep you updated!

Couple minor Festa Italia updates today: 🖼️1️⃣ Tempesto's long-closed photo booth has been repainted 🖼️2️⃣ The Festa Coke Market is back from last week's fumigation 🖼️3️⃣ ➕ 4️⃣: Fire-Tried Kettle Corn has begun popcorn and cotton candy sales out of their new (unfinished) pavilion

Crazy to say, but it's already time to start thinking about Howl-O-Scream! Over the last few weeks there has been a lot of activity at the Festhaus Park event pavilion (home to last year's HORRIBLE new house, Werewolves: The Wolf’s Revenge). Might we see it reworked this year?

I'll always find it impressive how well InvadR was wedged into #BuschGardensWilliamsburg, but here's something I think is often overlooked: Not only does InvadR travel both over and under Le Scoot, Le Scoot actually threads THROUGH InvadR's chain loop! Wild.

Some gorgeous new signage has shown up around the Verbolten station area this week! Cute designs and love the use of 3D lettering and the ride restrictions and photo booth signs!

Anyone who was concerned about the look of the new vine sculptures on the Porsche the other week can now rest easy. They've received their thematic paint and they look EXCELLENT—a ton better than the original!

Another Thursday, another Verbolten: Forbidden Turn update! Not a ton to see around the site vs last week, but, some additional clearing has revealed more of the billboard and fake track and, as predicted, the VW bug has been removed from its podium (destined for relocation into the show building).

Culinary isn't the only out-of-the-spotlight department with cap-ex this year either. LOVING the new permanent roof over Lorikeet Glen! They managed to build it while keeping the majority of the surrounding trees intact and even gave it an architecturally-interesting roof line!

Seems like a good time for a little thread of culinary facility upgrade updates. See below for Festhaus Foyer, Das Edelweiss, and Alpengeist Refreshments updates! 🧵 ⬇️

Another notable Verbolten: Forbidden Turn update: the crashed car out front has received some nice tweaks! New 3D vine theming, a new logo for Frau Hexel's Magical Motor Tour agency, and a new foundation we believe will soon house the original blue, oval Vbolt sign!

Verbolten: Forbidden Turn's first scene is coming along nicely! The large billboard and the fake track are both installed and look excellent!

Sorta poetic that the sticker covering the Battle for Eire sign is just now starting to crack and peel. Going to be SO nice to have a proper, non-coaster, indoor attraction back at Busch Gardens Williamsburg next season!

Someone at Busch Gardens Williamsburg is going to need to explain why is an American flag is flying over Heatherdowns, Scotland. No idea why a flag pole was installed here at all, but flying an American flag in a BGW hamlet is an instant, inexcusable, obvious "no."

Tidbits from the Q&A, a 🧵: - Playing with ideas for a member lounge but no immediate plans - Want to depreciate the kiosks by putting vouchers in the app - New flat rides are desired by park-level leadership - There are exciting 2027 plans - "little bit of time" for a new coaster

Two new Summer 2026 shows are "Across the Pond! Legends of the UK" which sounds like a British music show. Big news though: BGW is bringing back a major nighttime spectacular show next year with "Kinetix: A New Generation!" Love to see the return of Kinetix! 😍

Just want to make sure people's expectations are properly calibrated for tomorrow. Rumors this summer indicated that the "Italian Le Mans" plans were shelved. Instead, another rumored project we wrote about back in the spring has been fast-tracked: a Verbolten thematic upgrade. Expect that tomorrow.

Broad Wolf's Revenge consensus from BGW fans I've run into so far tonight: — Great, low-intensity family coaster. — NOTABLY better in every way (layout, presentation, theming, smoothness, etc) than its sister coaster, Phoenix Rising. — Presentation/theming is ELITE
