Next 72 hours- QUIET to STORM. Possible CME glance at first followed by effects from of a large re-current coronal hole. Fast solar wind stream expected late tomorrow or early Sunday (UT day), hence there's a chance of some ACTIVE to STORM periods before the end of the weekend.

BGS Geomagnetism @bgsgeomagnetism.bsky.social · 25/09/2026
Next 72hrs - ACTIVE. Solar wind speed is currently slightly elevated due to CH effects and a second high-speed stream from a northern CH is expected to arrive 26-Sep. ACTIVE spells are likely to persist over the next two days and there is a small chance of brief, isolated minor STORM intervals.

000
BGS Geomagnetism @bgsgeomagnetism.bsky.social · 15/09/2026
Next 24hrs - QUIET. Coronal hole influence should elevate solar winds. A glancing blow from a CME may occur later in the day which may results in some isolated STORM geomagnetic conditions.
000
BGS Geomagnetism @bgsgeomagnetism.bsky.social · 14/09/2026
Next 24hrs - QUIET. Solar wind speeds are expected to become enhanced later due to coronal hole influence. This will likely cause some ACTIVE to STORM G1 spells of geomagnetic activity.
010
BGS Geomagnetism @bgsgeomagnetism.bsky.social · 11/09/2026
Next 72hrs - QUIET to STORM. A high-speed stream from a small coronal hole is expected to arrive today, potentially bringing some minor STORM spells. Conditions are then expected to reduce down to QUIET towards the end of the weekend.
010
BGS Geomagnetism @bgsgeomagnetism.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

000
BGS Geomagnetism @bgsgeomagnetism.bsky.social · 09/09/2026
Next 24hrs - QUIET. There has been limited enhancement in geomagnetic activity associated with the three CMEs from the 5th and 6th September. Solar wind speed is still slightly elevated so some ACTIVE to STORM spells are possible as the residual CME effects wane.
000
BGS Geomagnetism @bgsgeomagnetism.bsky.social · 08/09/2026
Next 24hrs - ACTIVE to STORM. Activity has increased over the past 24hrs due to a coronal hole and further STORM conditions are likely due to the anticipated arrival of up to three CMEs. Upon impact we may see up to STORM G2 intervals.
011
BGS Geomagnetism @bgsgeomagnetism.bsky.social · 07/09/2026
Next 24hrs - QUIET. Solar wind parameters are currently increasing associated with a small coronal hole bringing chances of ACTIVE to STORM G1 intervals. Up to three CMEs observed on the 5th and 6th will potentially arrive in the coming days.
020
BGS Geomagnetism @bgsgeomagnetism.bsky.social · 04/09/2026

010
BGS Geomagnetism @bgsgeomagnetism.bsky.social · 28/08/2026
Next 72hrs - ACTIVE. No coronal hole effects were observed yesterday but the solar wind speed is now starting to gradually increase. A glancing blow from two CMEs launched on the 25th Aug may arrive during the 28-29th. The combined effects could give ACTIVE to STORM periods.
010
BGS Geomagnetism @bgsgeomagnetism.bsky.social · 27/08/2026
Next 24hrs - ACTIVE. We await the arrival of a high-speed solar wind stream from a coronal hole. So far geomagnetic conditions are quiet, but geomagnetic activity could reach ACTIVE to STORM levels once the fast solar wind arrives.
020
BGS Geomagnetism @bgsgeomagnetism.bsky.social · 26/08/2026
Next 24hrs - QUIET (mainly). Quiet geomagnetic conditions are expected until the onset of a high-speed solar wind stream from a coronal hole which is expected to arrive during the 27th Aug. ACTIVE/STORM periods following this arrival.

BGS Geomagnetism @bgsgeomagnetism.bsky.social · 21/08/2026
Next 72hrs - QUIET. Solar wind speed is elevated due to CH effects but expected to gradually decline over the weekend. There remains a chance of some ACTIVE spells over the next 24 hours before conditions return to QUIET.
000
BGS Geomagnetism @bgsgeomagnetism.bsky.social · 20/08/2026
Next 24hrs - ACTIVE. Further enhancement in the already elevated solar wind speed is anticipated today due to the arrival of high-speed stream from a second CH and a possible glancing blow of a CME from 16-Aug. The combined impact of these could cause isolated STORM spells.
010
BGS Geomagnetism @bgsgeomagnetism.bsky.social · 19/08/2026
Next 24hrs - ACTIVE to STORM. The early onset of a high-speed stream from a CH has enhanced activity sooner than expected. This and the anticipated arrival of a second CH high-speed stream means similar conditions should persist, with chances of further STORM G1 spells.
020
BGS Geomagnetism @bgsgeomagnetism.bsky.social · 18/08/2026
Next 24hrs - ACTIVE. Solar wind speed is slightly above background levels following the arrival of the CME from 14-Aug. Further ACTIVE spells are expected as the effects of the CME wane.
020
BGS Geomagnetism @bgsgeomagnetism.bsky.social · 17/08/2026
Next 24hrs - ACTIVE to STORM. A CME associated with a filament eruption observed on 14-Aug is expected to arrive today. Geomagnetic activity levels up to STORM G2 are possible.
012
BGS Geomagnetism @bgsgeomagnetism.bsky.social · 14/08/2026
Next 72hrs-ACTIVE to STORM. Geomagnetic conditions are expected to become elevated today due to the anticipated arrival of a high-speed CH wind stream. Two CMEs were observed leaving the Sun this morning. Although imagery and data are limited, these could arrive late Sunday or early Monday morning.
052
BGS Geomagnetism @bgsgeomagnetism.bsky.social · 13/08/2026
Next 24hrs - QUIET. Solar wind parameters are gradually returning to ambient levels in the wake of a weak CME passage. No significant enhancement in geomagnetic activity is expected today.
000
BGS Geomagnetism @bgsgeomagnetism.bsky.social · 12/08/2026
Next 24 hrs – QUIET to ACTIVE. The CME from the filament eruption on 8-AUG arrived late UT morning on 11-AUG. There was no significant increase in geomagnetic activity following impact. Further isolated ACTIVE spell is possible as CME effects wane.
000
BGS Geomagnetism @bgsgeomagnetism.bsky.social · 10/08/2026
Next 24 hrs – QUIET. Geomagnetic conditions are expected to remain QUIET throughout. There is a low chance that a CME could arrive towards the very end of the forecast period. Should this occur, isolated ACTIVE to STORM G1 intervals would be possible.
010
BGS Geomagnetism @bgsgeomagnetism.bsky.social · 07/08/2026
Next 72hrs - QUIET. Overall low activity is expected, although glancing impacts from CMEs observed on 3-4 Aug may bring some ACTIVE and brief STORM periods over the weekend.
010
BGS Geomagnetism @bgsgeomagnetism.bsky.social · 06/08/2026

000
BGS Geomagnetism @bgsgeomagnetism.bsky.social · 03/08/2026

000
BGS Geomagnetism @bgsgeomagnetism.bsky.social · 31/07/2026
