Happy birthday to Alice Coltrane -- John's centennial is getting the rest of the year; we can afford one day for Alice. (not my car, seen randomly in a Philadelphia grocery store parking lot)

Ever since I started working from home in 1997 (!) I have made it a strict policy to get out of the house and walk at lunchtime. Today, I stumbled into doing a man-on-the-street interview with the local Fox station about the World Cup Fan Fest that's taking over my neighborhood next month.
Me, a balding middle aged dude in sunglasses, mid-interview, trying hard to form complete and concise sentences. Caption: "What to know about World Cup parking permits near Lemon Hill". Chyron caption: "Internal bleeding was the reason he missed 2nd round." Hope they weren't talking about me.

I owe @darcyjamesargue.com an apology. More than once I made light of his complaints about the Mr Softee truck parked outside his window. Living in an urban neighborhood now where it’s getting warmer, I am coming to understand the actual severity of this. Let’s see if I make it through the summer.

Spent the week back in my ancestral homeland of Rome, NY. Saw the empty (thanks to a freak tornado) space where the building that used to contain my family's camera store was. Also saw the newly re-lit neon sign on the former Revere copper factory, dark for decades.
