Before/after a long day of playing the Jet Lag home game in Denver yesterday. Survived a hailstorm, walked ~20,000 steps and had a great time. @adamchase.bsky.social @thewheatgerm.bsky.social @samfromwendover.bsky.social

Figured it was about time for a post about Macklin Celebrini. 18-year-olds (especially one with a summer birthday) aren't supposed to do this

Catching up on stuff from over the weekend, so here's some basketball Egg Bowl numbers. Mississippi State dominated on the boards. Lots of trips to the charity stripe in this one, too.

Charts from yesterday's Ole Miss and Mississippi State games. With both teams on skids lately, is it panic time yet?

Ole Miss snapped its three-game skid in a very Ole Miss way: defend decently well, force a bunch of turnovers and don't turn the ball over (season-low 6% turnover percentage).

Not a lot of defense in Starkville last night. Defensive rebounding hadn't really been an issue for Mississippi State, but that's back-to-back games now where the Bulldogs have given up a ton of offensive rebounds.

Not much has gone Ole Miss' way lately after three straight losses, but the one thing the Rebels have done really well this year is winning the turnover battle. They don't turn the ball over and force a ton of turnovers on defense.

Mentioned on the podcast this week that, while A&M has had its issues shooting the ball, the Aggies would have a big advantage on the boards. That's pretty much what happened.

Last regular season CAVEMAN MODE update, and it's a doozy. This week features a snow game in Columbia, UConn-UMass nonsense and plenty of bragging rights.

Ole Miss heads to Gainesville this week, and Florida's kind of been a weird team all year. Instability at QB and a volatile defense will do that.

Every week, I've been posting about something I've called CAVEMAN MODE. It's pretty simple: -Positive EPA per rush -At least 50% success rate on the ground -Run the ball at least 60% of the time. Here's last week's CAVEMAN MODE games plus the complete list for this season.

Taking a look at SEC pass rushers, split up between EDGE and interior linemen. Doesn't really matter where it comes from, someone from the Ole Miss front is getting home.

Lane Kiffin's defenses have mostly improved year-over-year, but Ole Miss has really stepped up its game on the defensive side of the ball.

There's obviously a lot of buzz about the improvement Ole Miss has made on the defensive side of the ball, but you can really see it when you put the two teams side by side.
