dat’s right. and dat number makes us officially the largest-ever video-rental collection in Baltimore! (the late, great Video Americain reported owning in the 30,000s as it closed). Thanks to everyone who’s helped us grow to thisamazing size from our humble beginnings with ~8900 titles in 2018!

Hi Bluesky! We're Beyond Video, a non-profit video-rental library in Bmore run entirely by film-loving volunteers. We've crowdsourced 37,000+ films on DVD, blu, VHS, and 4K one title at a time. Got a disc (or 10) to send our way this holiday season? Our wish lists are here: beyondvideo.org/donate/

At the hilarious time of 4:20 Eastern on this day, Beyond Video passed 100,000 rentals with a 3-disc loan. Sadly, none were Half-Baked, Harold and Kumar, or Cheech and Chong-related. All the same, thanks to everyone who chose physical media over streaming even one of those 100,000 times. 🤓📀🙏🏼💫🎥🍿📀😎

This number is a landmark for us. We opened in 2018 with a modest collection of 8900 items. As of today, our collection is officially 4 times as large as it was the day we opened. Thanks to everyone who's helped us not only grow but thrive over the years!

Video stores still exist! Not only that, what people rent from us is so much cooler than the "content" they could access from corporate streaming services. Here are the all-time top-renting movies at Beyond Video, from our opening in 2018 through earlier this year.
