the sensor fusion is now pretty much perfect! the PS VR2 controllers are temperamental because it sometimes gets bad input (bad in -> bad out), but the Oculus Rift headset, which has generally good data, has pretty much no issues to my eyes #monado #foss #linux

after 2 weeks of work, we have room setup in Monado! this is a super early version (the LEDs on the back of the strap cause tracking issues, since fixed after this video), but it's able to use offline sensor fusion to automatically compute the camera positions!

after a lot of work the past few weeks, Oculus Rift + PS VR2 controllers works *so* much better now! tracking is stable outside of some fringe cases with few LEDs along with the ever-lasting occlusion problems you get with a single camera

finally sharing what i've been working on! with help from the PSVR2Toolkit devs figuring out LED sync, we have very early constellation tracking of PSVR2 sense controllers on Oculus Rift in Monado! in the future this should also expand support to other IR-camera headsets like PS VR2 or Rift S

nyeinyh! been awhile since i last showed anything i was working on, even though i've been busy with VR stuff, but here's a teaser of my recent work on Monado's Rift driver! (bonus ducks to anyone who can recognize the two suspicious extra devices from their LED patterns alone)
An image from the Oculus Rift CV1 camera showing the bright LED flash patterns of five distinct devices, with two of the devices being unidentified.

after a little over a week of bashing my head against it, i've managed to make a fair amount of progress on reverse engineering the Vive Pro 2 distortion for Monado! 🐾 i've got the data parsed out, but the algorithm is incredibly complex with many moving parts

small update, no video this time 🐾 after a *lot* of effort the past couple days, i *finally* have Wii Motion Plus data sent to Monado! turns out the kernel kept turning it off automatically, so i wrote a new L2CAP HID implementation for Monado, bypassing the kernel entirely
Screenshot of binary data being sent from a Wii Remote, containg 6 bytes of extension data from the Wii Motion Plus accessory, which contains 3-axis gyroscope data.

too long to fit in single reply so screenshot with alt text to the rescue
i feel like there is some valid usecase for something like this in a classroom teaching kids to read at higher levels, i feel like being able to give kids a harder book in ebook form, and let them get a simplified representation of some sentence/phrase by clicking on it would help a lot, i feel like if that could be autogenerated then skimmed over by the teacher, it would be quite helpful, since doing that by hand would take ages, as long as you can ensure kids arent overusing it through manual supervision, it may work well to let kids read/understand a harder book at their own pace/level

ive never done one of these before i hope "pull out the entire digital art suite" is the correct way to add 15 transparent dots to a png file
