Welp, #BeyondTheGates is a HIT! CBS made the right call when it came to changing its programming lineup. The new soap topped #GH head-to-head by substantial margins in both Women 18-49 and Women 25-54 during the week of February 24-28, 2025.

That doesn’t change the fact that they took less time for Trina to kiss Kai than any of her her pairings. There was no follow up from their kiss yesterday and they keep skipping beats. Which makes me question why they aren’t taking care to flesh out the normal plot points for a new pairing.

I feel like this is all in retaliation for the story of Trina being the one to save the world. Joss during that time was under Dex and had no major story. Now they’ve course corrected with the “new” writers with Joss being the heroine saving PC and Trina with no story other than being under a man.

The energy is like theyre going nowhere fast. They are quickly establishing the new YA scene Gio/Kai/Trina/Emma (minus Joss who is pivoting to more mature stories) which is making these sudden friends seem inorganic. The writing is juvenile and heavyhanded like they are in a rush to tell what story?

They spent all that time and effort on the paternity storyline and erasing Taggert as her father just for them to barely have Trina interact with Curtis (not that I care for their scenes together) but it’s the principle. They are separating Trina form her family on purpose.

TJ has vanished. He’s the baby’s father, but that show never intended to include him in the story. TJ is experiencing the same level of disrespect and erasure that Trina has faced. GH keeps showing us that they don’t value their black cast or viewers.

My prediction: In Joss’ quest to revenge Dex, Trina will be caught in the crossfire and Kai will heroically jump to save her life which he will suffer some career threatening injury and Trina will aid in his recovery drawing them closer together.

I say cancel GH and bring on another soap to fill its time slot. They’ve rung dry all the stories they could in Port Charles and the families that inhabit it. It’s time for a new story. A richer, diverse story that is lead by competent people that aren’t motivated by their own self-aggrandizement

At this point regressing Trina back to the girl that’s simply Joss’ friend with little family ties is the goal. They spent years building this paternity storyline just for both of her parents to virtually non-factors in her life. I refuse to believe it’s not on purpose
