I’ve always loved watching the Hootenanny over the years. One of my favourite times was when I sang as part of the tribute to George Harrison who had just died, where I met the brilliant Ronnie Wood! But every time I've been able to play with Jools Holland and the band has been SUCH a joy!!

The title track was a dedication to James as it felt like for the first time I was giving 100% to a relationship! This album, I was also able to bring on one of my absolute icons, Chaka Khan, for Soul Survivor, which, to this day, I love performing for you all.

Yesterday I had the huge pleasure of performing at Black on the Square a free event at Trafalgar Square celebrating the wealth of performance art emerging from the Black communities in London. Alongside @shanayholmes and @iamcedricneal I represented the celebration of Black British theatre.

Sylvia took over this pub and called it “The Mother’s Arms” as the HQ for her East London Federation of Suffragettes (ELFS). 400 Old Ford Rd, Bow. Now called the “Lord Morpeth” and is at 402 Old Ford Rd.

He symbolises so much more than the hounding to death that he suffered at the hands of pernicious individuals and a complicit media. He was a beacon to many, he encouraged so many young people in his young and short life to be better and to strive for more.
