Beautiful day at WWT Slimbridge where I finally saw a Water Rail (a bird that has repeatedly eluded me this year), as well as Great White Egret, Green Sandpiper, Wood Sandpiper, Ruff, Greenshank, Snipe, Blackwits and more @wwtsightings.bsky.social #UKBirding

Upsetting start to the day as I came across a serious car accident on my way to Wood Lane Nature Reserve. My heart wasn’t really in birding after that, but this is what I saw. Hope all those involved in the accident make a full recovery.

Pleased to join a day trip to RSPB Titchwell Marsh today. Never seen it so busy, but that’s what two Spotted Crakes will do! Lifers for me, albeit rather distant. Lots of other lovely birds to enjoy too on a very windy day #UKBirding #NorfolkBirding

An early visit to RSPB Frampton Marsh gave me views of two Black-winged Stilts, Blackwits, Ruffs, LRPs and more. Large areas of the reserve are bone dry now, which means the birds are concentrated around the areas where there is still water#UKBirding

I bid a fond farewell to Northumberland today, but not before visiting Hauxley Nature Reserve. Incredibly windy, but worth it for the Dunlin alone. Living in the West Midlands, I don’t often get the chance to get so close to those delightful little waders #UKBirding
