It has meant that children under 5 that aren’t currently registered with a dentist have been able to access preventative treatment with linked local dentists. We developed the ‘𝐓𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐓𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐡’ referral process inviting parents to text our number to register an interest in accessing the dentist.

Between 2015 and 2021 there has been a 11.3% decrease in the number of 5 year olds with dental decay in Blackpool. Nationally there has been a 1% increase. Additionally, over 5750 children 2-4 have benefited from supervised toothbrushing in their early years setting.
