This was a lovely surprise at my local library. (Great company to be in!) It's World Poetry Day/Month - so check out your library and borrow some #poetry books so they know to keep stocking them, and maybe they'll do displays like this more often.

Back on Sub-stack after a break - with 2 poems, one from Best of Australian Poems, and the other from 100 Poets (Flying Islands) - 'The trees shimmy / with an invisible clutch of life... a white-trousered parrot inspects / a drunken coven of witches hats' ...& a bit of this and that.

..and will keep paying and paying for it in so many ways for generations (if we last that long). Eg, the air pollution from all the burning buildings will have massive health effects.. etc etc etc etc....

What a year. So much horror & pain, and yet every day is still a miracle in all the small joys. Wishing you peace, love & curiosity as we join hands in another spin around the sun in a body. ♥️

How wonderful to be able to exchange messages with @Nancy Cato - someone so dear to me in my 1960s childhood, and who looked through the television screen right into my heart. #AdventureIsland #ChildrensTV bethspencer.com/blog/vale-br...

‘Make my daughter cry, will you? For every tear my daughter sheds, may buckets of water fall on your head.’ Everyone needs a mother like Endora! My piece on #Bewitched : bethspen.substack.com/p/bewitching...

Apparently Gina Davis and Samuel E Jackson both say this is one of their favourite movies they starred in.

The Long Kiss Goodnight is on iview. Ages since I last watched it & yes, some of the jokes are pretty ickily dated, (but at least they are in keeping with Mitch's character arc) & a lot more violence than I remember, but it's such a wild amazing ride. A great xmas buddy movie & what a superheroine!

Lovely to see familiar faces and names over here where the skies are blue. Please do follow or say hello if we have things in common -- writer (a mix of fiction, memoir, poetry & essay), eco-lefty, art and cat lover - so I can reciprocate. ♥️
