Ben Laabs @berylliumben.bsky.social · 23/01/2026In solidarity with the great state of Minnesota, enjoy this #FossilFriday image of the Giant Beaver! Like many Minnesotans, this Ice Age mega-mammal endured brutally cold climates while innocently striving to survive and protect its home. On display at the Minnesota Science Museum in St. Paul. 0136 0
Ben Laabs @berylliumben.bsky.social · 16/01/2026For this #FossilFriday, I’m highly recommending visiting the Natural History Museum of Utah to see the Ceratopsian Wall. It displays a variety of fossilized skulls of this Jurassic-Cretaceous group of rhinoceros-like dinosaurs. The one on the left is Kosmoceratops, the horny-est dinosaur ever! 0144 0
Ben Laabs @berylliumben.bsky.social · 09/01/2026A close look at the jaws and teeth if the “Teen Rex”, displayed at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. These fossils were found in the Late Cretaceous Hell Creek Formation in North Dakota. Did you know that Tyrannosaurs had serrated teeth? 😳🙀🫣 #FossilFriday 020 0

Ben Laabs @berylliumben.bsky.social · 03/01/2026For the first #FossilFriday of 2026, a reconstructed stegosaurus and allosaurus displayed at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Both are found in the Late Jurassic Morrison Formation. Stegosaurus is the state fossil of Colorado and was, like many Coloradans, a badass herbivore! 2131 0

Ben Laabs @berylliumben.bsky.social · 01/12/2025One of the great things about geology is it never gets boring. I’ve seen petrified logs all over North America and I’m always amazed that they exist. These are from the Triassic Chinle Formation at Petrified Forest National Park in northern Arizona. 020 0
