If City get relegated to the bottom league, will Sky still refer to the big 6?

Jonathan JE Brown @berty2001.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

For City, let punishment fit the crime. Remove them from the seasons involved in the charges. No asterisk, just removed from the record. Fine based on earnings during that period (close to £700m). Transfer ban for the same period. Current players free to leave. They could only replace with youths.

Felt a game like this was coming. Live and learn. Be interested so see the response in the second half. This will tell us a lot about the rest of NUFC's season

I know it's only 4 games in but if Spurs fail to score/win this game, you'd seriously be considering a new manager, right?

000

Jonathan JE Brown @berty2001.bsky.social · 05/09/2026

Unbeaten in league and cup. Scoring goals. Yes, the defence needs to get better and fast. It's been fine margins but in the past we would have been on the losing side of those margins.

Watching the highlights and loving how strong Hornicek's hands are. Was same against Liverpool - when he saves the ball is proper pushed away.

010

Jonathan JE Brown @berty2001.bsky.social · 29/08/2026

Thought we'd struggle in those first two games. But we look good. Unfinished but good. September fixtures look good on paper as well. Could build up some momentum

Line up for West Brom Jaueon Dedic Schar Thiaw Shahar Ramsey Bamba Steur Murphy Woltemade Toure

120

Jonathan JE Brown @berty2001.bsky.social · 23/08/2026

Would like to see Toure on for Barnes at some point. Feel Barnes slows down our counters

130

Jonathan JE Brown @berty2001.bsky.social · 23/08/2026

Plenty of positives from that half. Even if we don't get it over the line, there's lots to like. Hornicek looks good, Wissa a different person (though playing v deep), Steur and Miley calm in the middle. Be interesting to see what happens at half time and whether we change things up at all

020

Jonathan JE Brown @berty2001.bsky.social · 23/08/2026

No Gonzalez in squad and City just signed a new CM. Looks like he's going. Where is the big question.

Jonathan JE Brown @berty2001.bsky.social · 22/08/2026

Think we can knock another £5m off Bergvall price after today

000

Jonathan JE Brown @berty2001.bsky.social · 21/08/2026

It's quite possible that the so called big 6 will actually finish as the top 6 in the Premier League this season. And that would not be a good thing for football.

The big question when Trump is finally out of office, is which one of his many corrupt acts will be the focus of the inevitable film.

000

Jonathan JE Brown @berty2001.bsky.social · 15/08/2026

Getting a quality RB in to Newcastle gives us so much more scope in terms of flexibility and development. Miley can focus on being a world class CM, gives Tino chance to fully recover and rest, and we can send Sahar out on loan to develop properly.

Predictions for league - 1-7. Big 6 + Villa. Ars could take advantage of changes to win. Man U & Che might struggle - 8-12. NUFC, B'mouth, Forest, Brighton, Ful - 13-17. Pal, Brent, Leeds, Sun, Eve (think Europe will hit some of these) - Relegated - Hull, Ips, Cov Wild card: Eve down. Cov top 10.

Things I'm interested to see from our new manager: - Wissa or Osula up front - plans for big Nick - what he does with fringe players like Willock, Murphy, etc - who will be captain - will be give youth a chance - Miley in CM or RB

020

Jonathan JE Brown @berty2001.bsky.social · 02/08/2026

#nufc fans - what are your hopes for this season? Not just in league position but in terms of message we send to other teams, progression of players, style of play, behind the scenes? I'd like us to become hard to beat again, with young plays growing, & real progression in terms of stadium/training

Jonathan JE Brown @berty2001.bsky.social · 30/07/2026

Interesting that they're saying he's known for 2 weeks and wanted manager in place. Compare that with the Bruno deadline of this week for 'getting his future sorted' and think Bruno may have been waiting to see who we get in.

000

Jonathan JE Brown @berty2001.bsky.social · 30/07/2026

The soul has been ripped from Newcastle. King Kev going, Howe leaving and, no doubt, Bruno on his way. What a dark time for NUFC.

3120

Jonathan JE Brown @berty2001.bsky.social · 23/07/2026

First Carabo cup game expecting Jaoeun, Steur, Toure, Bamba to tear it up.

130

Jonathan JE Brown @berty2001.bsky.social · 23/07/2026

So Bamba and Steur going to be the new Tonali and Bruno in a couple of years. Big Nick sat in front as a number 10. (Also, after Manzambi and Bamba, definitely going to refer to Bamba as Bambi).

010

Jonathan JE Brown @berty2001.bsky.social · 23/07/2026

On the NUFC transfers, greats we're signing young talent but don't see Bamba as a direct replacement for Bruno. If Bruno does go we would need experience. Same issue with GK. If we sell Pope we'd need someone with experience. If we keep him, hope Jaoeun pushed him to start.

The new Avengers trailer does seem a little, shall we say, packed. My theory is that within the first act we'll see a lot of these killed off. Thor, Gambit, the New Avengers, Prof X, maybe more.

100

Jonathan JE Brown @berty2001.bsky.social · 15/07/2026

Do think if Burn was playing at the back and not up front he would have got that second goal.

000

Jonathan JE Brown @berty2001.bsky.social · 12/07/2026

Look, if we want to grow we want to be targeting players that could play for big teams. So we'll miss some targets. But it means the ones we get will be the quality we're after.

140

Jonathan JE Brown @berty2001.bsky.social · 12/07/2026

Don't worry Newcastle fans, just asked Google's AI mode who we are looking to buy and we are apparently targeting Elanga, Madueke from Chelsea, Pedro from Brighton and an exciting young winger Toure.

050

Jonathan JE Brown @berty2001.bsky.social · 10/07/2026

If transfers continue as they're going, we could almost put out a pretty strong first 11 agreed 25 and under. Building for the future. Jaouen Hall Livramento Thiaw Manzambi Miley Ramsay Steur Osula Woltemade Toure

210

Jonathan JE Brown @berty2001.bsky.social · 09/07/2026

Would be genuinely interested to know how much our new transfer strategy is down to Wilson and how much Howe. These new, young players don't seem like Howe types but imagine he'd have had some say

100

Jonathan JE Brown @berty2001.bsky.social · 09/07/2026

If Howe stays on after we lose Bruno it's going to be a proper chance to proven himself. Almost completely new leadership team of players needed, working with untested but talented youths, and no European football. Expectations for the season of already so low, so a chance to reinvent Newcastle.

020

Jonathan JE Brown @berty2001.bsky.social · 08/07/2026

This was it. This was the point it was inevitable he'd go.

000

Jonathan JE Brown @berty2001.bsky.social · 08/07/2026

God knows what Burn is coming back to. From the so-called leadership team, he might come back to being the only one left - Tripps gone, Bruno possibly going, Pope and Murphy also look like going. Honestly doesn't feel like we'll have many leaders in our team anymore

010

Jonathan JE Brown @berty2001.bsky.social · 08/07/2026

Genuinely think the penalty miss and getting knocked out had changed Bruno's mind. Think he wants to win stuff and he's not going to get that with Newcastle or Brazil. Hope he doesn't go, especially to Newcastle but if he does he'll leave a legend

410

Jonathan JE Brown @berty2001.bsky.social · 07/07/2026

So basically, Farage saw the boost the local win gave Burnham in his bid to be Labour leader and thought, I'll have some of that. I just hope Labour puts someone good up against him and we get rid of him for ever

030

Jonathan JE Brown @berty2001.bsky.social · 06/07/2026

What US fans who support the red card overturn is that as fans, we can moan about decisions, call for refs to be sacked, ask for rule changes, knowing that nothing will be done. That's what being a fan is. We've got decades of bad decisions we want to over turn but we know it won't happen.

000

Jonathan JE Brown @berty2001.bsky.social · 03/07/2026

If a club wins PL & Champions League, & you add in TV rights etc they'll take home up to £400m. Which is a lot but not when you have to spend £1bn to get there. So the main value players provide is their sell on cost, not their football ability. Which is why team values youth over someone like Bruno

000

Jonathan JE Brown @berty2001.bsky.social · 02/07/2026

With all these young, exciting transfers for #nufc, I can't wait for the 2028 squad rebuild when we sell them for £100m each.

040

Jonathan JE Brown @berty2001.bsky.social · 01/07/2026

When Harry Kane retires this country is screwed.

120

Jonathan JE Brown @berty2001.bsky.social · 01/07/2026

Madueke and Spence just do not work well together. No pass and go, no overlaps, no runs into space. Nowt

020

Jonathan JE Brown @berty2001.bsky.social · 30/06/2026

For me, offering Bruno a huge new contract is a no brainer. It says to both current players & potential signings, if you bring both the passion and performance, you'll be rewarded. So many #nufc players underperform or have an eye elsewhere for big money. This would be a motivator for them.

Jonathan JE Brown @berty2001.bsky.social · 27/06/2026

Not just because I'm a Newcastle fan, but would have started with Burn tonight. They're going to sit back and we'll get plenty of set pieces, so would be good to have him up there

For 37 years between '79 and 2016 we had 5 Prime Ministers. In the 10 years since we've had 5 going on 6. Did I think Starmer was the right person to lead Labour forward? No. Do I agree with this whole chopping and changing because people don't like someone? Also no.

020

Jonathan JE Brown @berty2001.bsky.social · 20/06/2026

If - and it looks likely - we sell Tonali for £100m. That with the £75m from Gordon and £60m CL money should give us enough for a proper squad refresh. I'd hope for 4 or 5 high quality players coming in. New CM, new RW, new GK, cover at both full backs.

100

Jonathan JE Brown @berty2001.bsky.social · 20/06/2026

Spurs going after our players shows the big 6 is about money and status, not football. We can outperform Spurs, show more stability and vision than Chelsea, even go toe to toe with Man U in recent years, but these clubs have financial clout, historic status and worldwide fanbases. That's it.
