This video will be the death of me. But I will finish it in 2025. Surely.

@standupmaths if you need/want a data point: the mission badge arrived in Germany today. Brexit, such a good idea.
Photo of a letter from Matt Parker to me, Bernhard Werner. Effectively unreadable. Laying on top of it is an official looking access pass reading:
"Moon Pi Launch Pass. Mathstronaut Bernhard Werner. Access All Approximations of Pi."
Next to it an even more official looking space mission badge, embroidered. It depicts: A blue moon, half open. Inside, a yellow icosahedron wireframe. Inside that, a beige moon. Above and below the text "Sum Moon π". Around everything, 22 stars. (IIRC, Matt forgot one star in the final approval round, but it is funny since 22/7 is an approximation of pi and there are now 22 stars and 7 letter.)

New video soon. Can you guess from the screenshot that I will talk about parabolas? 😉

I'm so fucking happy, y'all 😭 After weeks of rummaging through moving boxes, I finally found my Kamvas! And in our new office space, there's enough room so that I don't have to clear the desk before using it!

I started a new game project! Let's see whether I can keep it up at least until the end of the year.

Okay, let's do this one more time.

Tried to do a visualisation of a parallelepiped. Something I have done a dozen times in the past. Struggled with the drawing order of the faces and edges for hours until I realized I made two! different mistakes in calculating their centroids. (Any guesses what this will depict when it's finished?)

For a while now, I've been trying to get pictures into my videos where the “drawing process” is shown. In the past, I used SVGs where I had to extract the path data and animate them. But I had quite a few performance issues in CindyJS that way. I always wanted […] [Original post on mathstodon.xyz]

Here's the icosahedron that was too annoying to type out in the livestream.

Been working on a little toolkit to animate graphs. Still need to take care of a few details, but the basics are there.

That's the weirdest rubber duck I've ever seen, but so far, it works well!
