Man, I keep forgetting this place. Been on Threads mainly still, but I’m finding it hard to want to retain my place on any Meta platform these days… How’s Bluesky been coming along?

Those 3 were my favs when I used Olympus! Also had the 24 f/2, but rarely ever used it. Was amazed I could fit them all in one hand, and my back was so much happier after having switched from a 5D Mk III & kit 😆

Except maybe for the Tragically Hip’s last show!

Bernatchly @bernatchly.bsky.social · 03/02/2025

Haha yeah I figured you might appreciate that being pointed out! 😆 I hear ya, I’d love to show my love for my country, but so hard when it’s been co-opted by a bunch of assholes 😕

I’m sure you meant to write “flags” at the bottom there! But man I really hope you’re right.. sadly I feel like it’ll take a bit to get back to that feeling. Still see all sorts of those stickers with the F Trudeau variations periodically 😕

Tilts makes a lot of great accessories for video systems! When I used to focus pull, this was the biggest/heaviest rig I had to lug around 😬 Alexa classic with Angenioux 24-290, MB-18 mattebox, and a bunch of other heavy junk 😆 It was heavy as f*** 😳

Cold. It’s going cold. And snowy. 😆

The lovely drive back from dropping kiddo off this morn ❄️🙃 Gotta rig a better mount for the phone in the car 🤔 would love to capture more of this craziness 😆

Ain’t so bad.. saw my cousin post they’re expecting a “feels like” -48C today where they live 😳

Bernatchly @bernatchly.bsky.social · 21/01/2025

Well, we do have 2 cars thankfully, of which my wife’s has the car seat. Barely got the kiddo to school this morning! Had to pour hot water to unfreeze the damn shed lock to get the snowblower out 😳 Weather resistant locks, my ass… I do not look forward to having to go out there again later ☹️

Bernatchly @bernatchly.bsky.social · 21/01/2025

Welp.. guess my car is hibernating for a lil bit… 😆❄️

Bernatchly @bernatchly.bsky.social · 20/01/2025

I mean I love snow and all, but this is getting ridiculous 😆 ❄️

Snow filled deck, with chairs and tables covered by at least a foot and a half of snow, and nearly three feet on the deck itself

Oof! Well I hope it heals up quick!

Just dropping that all casual like on us 😮 Hope you’re okay! Been there done that and ended up with a bruised tailbone for weeks 😬

Bernatchly @bernatchly.bsky.social · 13/01/2025

Oh my goodness, that must have been amazing for the times you’ve been there! So sorry you have to say goodbye to it 😕 But I’m sure you’ve got plenty of amazing memories!

That is one photogenic kitty!

It’s a really big reason I got into film & TV work for sure, though I’ve focused my skills on the camerawork side, rather than the lighting. Fall is my favourite season for it, as I swear most of the days during fall where I live, we see that golden morning light!

Bernatchly @bernatchly.bsky.social · 11/01/2025

One thing you will likely eventually see with my photography is that I absolutely LOVE light. I mean we all do obviously because photography, but I am often obsessed with finding moments to show beautiful light and/or contrast of light. #photography #canadianphotographer #fujifilmphotography

Early morning sun, seen casting light over a misty farmer’s field, with a tree over to the left side.

Moisture evaporating from a tree on an early fall morning.

Red leaves of a plant in a garden, with a strong contrast of light where the light hits, and where shadow is casted.

Another all time fav.. I love this because it’s such a wonderful juxtaposition of nature and man. Believe this was taken somewhere along the Humber River, in Toronto, Canada, during a kayak venture with some film/tv friends! #photography #canadianphotographer

That def sounds about right! I just remember we had to stay at our friends’ place an extra day or two as we lived in TO, but roads were pretty shit after that hit!

Bernatchly @bernatchly.bsky.social · 11/01/2025

Not the one that the military was called in for in the GTA! (I wasn’t even living down there at the time that hit) I wanna say maybe early 201X years… 🤔

Another cool one (literally and figuratively), from a number of years ago when there had been a massive ice storm in Southern Ontario. Taken near our friend’s place in Kitchener, ALL the trees and bushes, etc. were covered in this coating of ice. It was definitely something to behold! #photography

Well, about time to post some pics for all you new photog followers :) Here’s one of my favs that I just keep coming back to, taken at the Maritime Museum in Greenwich, England. I happened to be there cam-assisting on the documentary series “Museum Secrets”, which was REALLY cool to be a part of!

Recently put that together for my local camera club’s Xmas gathering.. it’s nothing special, but at least shows some photos I’ve taken that I enjoy!

Well, thanks to @jakecasephoto.bsky.social for the add to one of his photographer starter packs here! For all the new folks, I post a myriad of things; photography, dad stuff, video game/streaming stuff, work stuff… sorry 😁 And if you want a look at some of my work: youtu.be/m9vMGcTqlWo

Keep at it! I finally culled my 70000+ strong library in 2023, and while it was daunting as hell and took me forever to get to (probably on account of the ADHD), was really satisfying to finally get done 😁
