It was a mind-expanding week of stimulating talks and workshops by experts on the frontier of AI and behavioral science. What makes religious fasting prosocial? Hunger usually makes people more selfish, impulsive, and aggressive — so why does fasting seem to do the opposite? That was the question at the heart of my talk at the 37th meeting of the Human Behavior and Evolution Society in Rabat, Morocco last week.

Although studying sex differences in the brain is complex, technically awkward and socioculturally loaded, it is absolutely essential.

Just presented a poster at SPSP based on work I did with colleagues a couple years ago. We investigated how Openness to Experience and values like open mindedness predict support for woo beliefs. People seemed really interested!
