#SchlitzPlayhouseOfStars TV ep #2.01 "Homecoming" (05-Sep-52). Again just a partial ep again. First 6 minutes. But we see Irene Dunne presenting and seemingly a famous presenter doing an intro was the current format. That wasn't seen in the surviving partial eps. www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSIp...

#SchlitzPlayhouseOfStars TV 1.37 cont'd, The female journo lead character was great. She was played by Teresa Wright.... and I've seen her one other place. Her final TV appearance 44 years later in #PicketFences TV ep #4.13 "My Romance" (26-Jan-96) where she was Judge Bone's old lover.

#SchlitzPlayhouseOfStars TV ep #1.37 "Dress in the Window" (13-Jun-52). 8-10 minutes are missing but at least there's 18 minutes in this clip. I think the full ep exists this is just a crap rip from a satellite TV channel. Again this isn't New York TV so back in LA? www.youtube.com/watch?v=7FN0...

#SchlitzPlayhouseOfStars TV ep #1.36 "Souvenir from Singapore" (06-Jun-52). Ep doesn't exist but this ended up as a pilot episode for the show "China Smith" which ran for 26 episodes starting almost immediately. The same actor Dan Duryea played the lead. It also has a spin-off movie (of sorts).

#SchlitzPlayhouseOfStars TV 1.33 cont'd. The other goodie here is that man-eater Jean Carson is in it! Now seen her 6 times: #StudioOne TV #1.13 (11-May-49) #StudioOne TV #1.19 (22-Jun-49) #MartinKane TV #4.49 (28-May-53) #InnerSanctum TV #1.00 (unaired 1954) #RichardDiamond TV #3.02 (22-Feb-59)

#SchlitzPlayhouseOfStars TV ep #1.33 "Autumn in New York" (16-May-52). Ok we are back with live TV. It's definitely CBS New York. LA can't fake this TV! Only the first 8 minutes exist and it's a musical. Not sure how it ends just so glad it's still going out live. www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4SF...

#SchlitzPlayhouseOfStars TV 1.32 contd. I now have a 5th member in my 100 Club!! Cheryl Callaway: 79yo. She was the child actor here. Unsure what she looks like today but is alive as she was at a signing in March!! She joins: Marilyn Erskine 100 Donna Martell 98 Nita Talbot 96 Joanne Woodward 96

#SchlitzPlayhouseOfStars TV 1.32 cont'd. Despite the very low res I enjoyed this but definitely this was not New York live TV. Hey AI was wrong!! I'll need to see more eps but this seemed pre-recorded and West coast. So perhaps just eps #1.01-#1,26 (ie: the early 1 hour eps) were live?

100

#SchlitzPlayhouseOfStars TV ep #1.32 "Appointment With the Past" (09-May-52). In 30' format but missing the start. However the surviving file is well below the 525-lines of 1952 and is even sub 144p!! So treat it as radio, check IMDB first so you can see who is who. www.youtube.com/watch?v=qGtu...

#SchlitzPlayhouseOfStars S1 is 48 weeks on CBS TV at 9.00pm on Fridays. For 1 hour for the first 26 eps but 30 mins thereafter. Against DuMont TV: Down You Go (quiz)/ #FrontPageDetective ABC TV: Crime With Father (crime)/ #TalesOfTomorrow NBC TV: The Big Story (crime)/ The Aldrich Family (sitcom)

100

#SchlitzPlayhouseOfStars I'll work it out season by season but I'm thinking: 1951/52 - Live from CBS in New York?? Precise studios unclear? 1952/53 to 1958/59 - Pre-recorded in Revue Studios in LA? With some live shows from maybe CBS in New York still? So who are Schlitz? Beer peddlers.

Placeholder for my BlueSky walkthrough of "Schlitz Playhouse of Stars": 1951-59: 363 x US TV eps [✅55 eps + 7 partial eps found online] I suspect other eps may be out there imprisoned in the various US archives or straggling about mislabelled etc. CBS TV but looks Hollywood, ie not New York?

#LetGeorgeDoit Radio 197 cont'd. Was the eagle voice artist used here, Bill James, also employed for the condor in Radio ep #94 "A Close Call" (12-Jul-48)? The latter doesn't credit the voice artist however. But both sounded very similar and were pretty powerfully voiced so I suspect so.

#LetGeorgeDoit Radio ep #197 "The Scream of the Eagle" (03-Jul-50). Another great set up. With a $5M inheritance up for grabs the sole heir is a young woman who supposedly drowned but whose body was never found. So every imposter ever is at it. I liked the actual eagle. archive.org/details/OTRR...

Maybe a high for Jodie era which is always the case when NuWho occasionally remembers Doctor Who is but science fiction horror bridged by cliffhangers.

#Sliders TV ep #3.07 "Dragonslide" (08-Nov-96). The problem with Sliders is that there is no depth to which it won't stoop. When you think it has sold its soul it'll go even lower again. And here we get a magic ep to jump on the mid 1990s witches/magic bandwagon. This series is so alienating.

000

Recently I watched a lot of her 1940's/early 1950's TV work before she was famous. "Suspense", "Studio One", "Martin Kane, Detective" "Man Against Crime". Albeit her "Lights Out" ep exists but is locked away in archive alas.

000

#StudioOne Ok I found a FOURTH member of my 100 Club under the new criteria. Joanne Woodward age 96. Her very first IMDB was #TalesOfTomorrow TV ep #2.19 "The Bitter Storm" (26-Dec-52) which I've watched.

000

#Sliders Comic 7 cont'd. The thing about Sliders is that it is completely unrewarding to dig into the regulars. Eg: Wade knew nothing about tech in S1/S2 is suddenly an IT geek as she worked in the computer store in ep #1.01, Arturo's brother dying of drugs is up there with his fuc*en military past.

100

#Sliders Comic 7 cont'd. TBF Jerry O'Connell's story is vastly better than the shite served in both the "Darkest Hour" and "Ultimatum" comics as well as the main run. Wade as baddie doesn't work as there's no story behind it and doppelganger stories only work as story when the actors get involved.

100

#Sliders Comic #7 "Special #1: Narcotica" (01-Nov-96). Anti-drugs story written by Jerry O'Connell himself. The art work is excellent, the likenesses too. The story is heavy handed but fast moving and well meaning. Maybe it's a tribute to River Phoenix who Jerry knew but it's not stated so?

#TheLoneRanger Radio ep #836 "The Silver Spur" (06-Jun-38). A prisoner is released after 2 years and is heading back to town. The old adventures of TLR are not from actual prior radio eps I'm certain. TLR is quite heart warming when he singles out one person to help. archive.org/details/OTRR...

#TheLoneRanger Radio ep #835 "Barbara Bates & Hacksaw Hastings" (03-Jun-38). I like how small beer some of these stories are. They caqn't all be giant sweeping epics. Saying that I liked the basic ass honey trap in this too. archive.org/details/OTRR...

#TheLoneRanger Radio ep #834 "Oil Lease Swindle" (01-Jun-38). A bit pedestrian this one. I guess TLR was giving the oil men, Bentley and Shane enough rope to hang themselves first. I liked the stubborn old bugger. archive.org/details/OTRR...

#StudioOne Ok I expanded my criteria for my 100 Club which previous just had women I've seen on 1940s TV. My 100 Club now includes women who I've seen on TV up to 1954. So there are 3 members as some late 90s yo newbies are permitted. Marilyn Erskine 100yo Donna Martell 98yo Nita Talbot 96yo

I still want to damage whoever came up with the blue Six outfit. It was only put in as a thing as the BBC sill hated his outfit 16 years later. Absolute act of cowardice to spawn that.

000

He'd need binoculars to see a 1949 TV next door even with an 10 year old's eye sight.

000

#TheOuterLimits Novella 11 cont'd. Again a decent story that doesn't outstay its welcome. The idea of animals taking over is one of the more entertaining ideas in this novella run by John Peel. Just one more of his 12 novellas to go after this now.

000

#LetGeorgeDoit Radio ep 196 cont'd. This run is on fire and has great re-listenability for working out if the motiviations line up. I love how bad tempered Riley is. So much so I wonder if Wally Maher was also tempermentally sick! My one flaw was the foley of the singing still a thing post-death.

100

#LetGeorgeDoit Radio ep #196 "Most Likely to Die" (26-Jun-50). Wouldn't the coroner have worked out the time of death or did he not commit suicide the previous day? The class of 1930 have a 20th year reunion. Would the Ra-Ra chants still take place after the first death? archive.org/details/OTRR...

100

#LetGeorgeDoit Radio ep #195 "So Low in Whispers" (19-Jun-50) Bravo, great ep. I loved how high brow it was with the death's all relating to specific operas. The killer was seeded well yet I missed all the clues. I wrongly thought it was just going o be that promoter. archive.org/details/OTRR...

100

#LetGeorgeDoit Radio ep #194 "The Iron Cat" (12-Jun-50). Brooksie in physical danger at the end was actually quite disturbing. I like the late twist after the main twist. I never guess them. I guessed a second murderer but assumed it was the business partner. Good ep. archive.org/details/OTRR...

I can't think of a single reason why you, I or any fan would have a moelcule of interest in this. Yet there will be Who fans on their high horse giving out about other #DoctorWho fans who have correctly pointed out that this is worthless slop.

000

#Sliders Comic #6 "Darkest Hour #2: Dimensional Shadows" (Nov-96). Another stupid Sliders arc that dumps on the premise. The two new worlds visited in this comic run so far are actually good but the main arc is trash: alien Zercuvian leader has cursed the Sliders to become evil. So fuck-n dumb.

100

#Sliders TV 3.06 cont'd. Ken Steadman who played Cutter died in a dune buggy accident. I did think this production had very elaborate and dangerous scenes. The death on location was caused becasue Steadman and another unnamed actor (injured) were not wearing the safety belts.

100

#Sliders TV ep 3.06 "Desert Storm" (01-Nov-96). The advantages of Californian made TV is noticeable now compared to Vancouver. LA actors are better albeit all seem to be slumming it on TV hoping for better movie work. Great production values, ok ep. #MadMax with the chick from #JeepersCreepers.
