But it’s nice to have their energy and presence in our home to help us make life feel less empty these days. While they don’t feel quite like ‘our cats’ yet, we know it will come. Welcome home, girls. We’re very happy you’re here.

Chris & I have added 8 paws - and a lot of chaos - to our family this week! Meet Margaux and Saumur, two little girls who needed a home. It’s been a decision we haven’t made lightly as we still grieve the loss of Mendoza very deeply.

So my Instagram and threads accounts have been suspended. I have no idea why, and when I clicked on the ‘more info’ I got this. I’m appealing it but if they deny my appeal, my accounts are permanently gone. WTF? I definitely didn’t do anything to merit this.

I’m having a really rough day today and just super sad. I miss my baby. She was my best girl. And I can’t believe she’s gone.

One week ago, we said goodbye to Mendoza. Our home feels so empty and so very quiet. I keep looking for her or expect her to come in from another room. Then I remember she is gone. A friend thoughtfully lit this candle for her in the Buddhist tradition & gave to us. It’s been lit ever since.

Missing my girl so much. This time last week, I was enjoying cuddling with her and being calmed by her purrs. 😢 I hope you are running free, Mendoza. My best girl.

My little Mendoza left this world just over 48 hrs ago, and we are so crushed. My condo is empty, my days are empty. We’ve tried to get out and be somewhere else - which is only slightly less horrible. I did spend a good amount of time today finding photos of her. She was our beautiful princess. 💔

My baby will be crossing the Rainbow Bridge tomorrow afternoon. Please send her all the love and thoughts for a peaceful journey. 🌈 🐈‍⬛ 💔

Today has been one of the worst days of my life. My cat was diagnosed with lymphoma that has grown quickly & spread thru her body. We’re likely down to days with her as she is too old & too advanced in the disease for all of us to do treatment. Hoping for at least this weekend with my best girl.

Nelba Marquez-Greene said it very well - we need to demand both prevention and care from those in government. We owe it to ourselves and our fellow humans to provide both to reduce the harm and impact of tragic events.

I beg to differ a bit because this is all political. Yes, we can be supportive & have empathy. Also when I see things like this tweet where governmental spending (or lack of) impacts people, we need to make it political. Spending $$$ on important services to save lives should be priority.

This is the energy I need. This is righteous anger for @senmullin.bsky.social who sits on the Senate Armed Services Committee. All the times I’ve called his office and I’ve never heard back. At least I’ve gotten a call or 2 back from Lankford, although it has been ages. x.com/kendallybrow...

Hey everyone with gop electeds, maybe you can make 2 calls a day to each: 1. Complaining about the issue of the day (today was the administrative coup by musk for me) 2. One fact to help them learn more during #BlackHistoryMonth Then March is Women’s History Month, June is Pride month…

On November 14, Ruby and her mother were escorted into the William Frantz Elementary School by 4 federal marshalls. This escort continued all year. Despite the racial slurs, screaming crowds, and only having one teacher willing to accept her, Ruby did not miss a day of school.

Black history IS American history! Ruby Bridges, born Sept 8, 1954 in Tylertown, MS, is now 70 years old. She was the eldest of 5 children. When Ruby was 2, the family moved to New Orleans, LA in search of better opportunities.

Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. Grateful I could visit my mom & gram on what was my mom’s favourite holiday. Enjoyed an unconventional Thanksgiving with my husband in an airport hotel, enjoying traditional dinner from Warehouse Gourmet Bistro with 2016 Black Ankle Chardonnay reserve.
