The complete failure of liberal institutions across the world to jail these fascist fucksticks is more than enough evidence that our current institutions are broken beyond repair. Time to build new.

Zionism is racism. The United Nations voted to declare it as such in 1975, half a century ago. This isn’t new, and this isn’t controversial.

I'll meet you. I'm not going to watch a guy putting up pipelines, cutting budgets a lot, trying to turn Canada into a surveillance state that would make the US jealous at the levels, deciding the Charter is optional, get the god damn peace prize. I've had it w/ Carney gaslighting. I would crash out

This team doesn’t like doing things the easy way. What a third period effort though. Kreider and Demidov get their first each and it’s 5-5. It was 5-1.

Friedman does a segment during the 2nd intermission about the NHL being more strict about coaches yelling at refs. Perhaps they should focus on actually supporting their refs with off-ice officials instead of silencing legitimate criticism of the worst officiated major sport?

I hope Michael Cera is making a boat load of cash from these Rogers commercials because they are horrid. I've met the guy, and he is effortlessly funny all the time, and they're not even sort of funny. In fact, I hope he's ruining them on purpose.

Great gamble from Xhekaj to make up for Slaf getting caught. Arber was stuck defending a 3v1 and elimated the puck from the equation.

Nice example of the unique stuff Matheson brings. Starts the play deep in his own zone, then takes a pass off the rush right at the net front.

These traitorous goofs offered up our FRESH WATER????? Full exposé on these idiot Alberta separatists here: archive.is/rhGUj
Excerpt from the Globe article reads: “A Globe and Mail investigation has found that Republican political operatives were on the ground in Alberta this year to assist the separatist campaign in its bid to leave Canada, while harbouring their own aspirations for the province to secede.
The Globe also found that when Alberta separatist leaders went to Washington to meet with the U.S. State Department, they offered up key assets from the province's resource portfolio, including access to fresh water and royalties on crude oil, in exchange for help transitioning to independence.
Through interviews with The Globe on both sides of the border, people involved in politics, the corporate sector and Alberta's pursuit of separatism have described persistent efforts by figures in the U.S. administration and conservative political establishment to support groups seeking American expansionism and independence for Alberta.”

Canada is not actually 'battling for survival' in the context of secession, because in both Alberta and Quebec secession has relatively small amounts of public support. What we're battling is dipshit far-right populist politicians enabling/pushing for this destructive bullshit.

This will be sold as something that “needed to be done” economically, and to quell Albertan separation. Of course, it will help neither. They just saw how easy it was. Carney has lied at literally every stage of this plan.

This was in response to someone saying "it's the fascism" about the tear gas attack on a crowd of mostly LGBTQ+ folks last night. The cops never needed outright fascism to attack us. They just needed a public and media willing to turn a blind eye, which they've had for the majority of US history.

When we finished our podcast Stolen: Surviving St. Michael's in 2022, I knew that I wasn’t done with the story. Even though we had spent a year investigating my dad's experience at the St. Michael's Indian Residential School and uncovered a staggering level of abuse, the story felt unfinished.

The National Post is using language that seems wildly irresponsible and dangerous here Citing ancient “Jewish law,” it labels Avi Lewis as a “rodef” The ultranationalist extremist who assassinated Yitzhak Rabin rationalized his killing on the same basis: www.theguardian.com/world/2020/o...
None of this applies, however, when a Jewish person presents a clear and present danger to the Jewish community. When that happens, Jewish thought is much more forceful: you must prevent the perpetrator from
causing harm.

Jewish law developed two character sketches to describe such scenarios. The first is known as a "mosar" — a Jewish person who informs to oppressive
authorities, potentially leading to the imprisonment, torture or death of community members. The second, called a "rodef," refers to a Jew who is actively pursuing another with the intent to harm or kill them. In both scenarios, the law is clear that a Jew is duty-bound to step in. Protecting the community and its members is the most important thing. It was around then that Yigal Amir, an earnest law student, made up his mind to kill the prime minister. Later he would insist he was not swayed by extremist rabbis; he had reached his own decision that Rabin - through his willingness to cede territory and to allow the creation of a Palestinian Authority, with its own armed police force - was a rodef and therefore a legitimate target. He got a weapon easily enough. With his brother, Amir was working on the creation of an anti-Palestinian militia. Nor was access difficult; on at least three occasions before the rally, Amir attended public events where Rabin was present. He was waiting for the right moment: he didn't want to shoot and miss.
